Any1 know what i need to look out for when choosin a cheap internal DVD-ROM drive? It's for my granddad and he wants me to find him 1 and fit it for him, the old fella's gettin wiv the new revolution!

erm not sute but i got an LG CDRW & DVD- ROM for about £70 and it's great. included power dvd sw which is very very good!

make sure it has some decent sw and it's a good make is all i would say. easy to fit though! even i didn't f*ck that one up! [addsig]

I think that you need s/w to make one work. the cheap £30 ones are just the drives only.

Cheers Ed, he's gotta CDRW so dont need that but he's seen a LG DVD for 42squid. Amazon do 1 by LiteOn for 34.99, wot SW do u need then?

where can I find a program that reduce digital photos down to web size images without me having to go into a program and fart around?

arfur how about macromedia fireworks - its really easy to change the size but just uses up loadsa memory a huge program!
