What a disturbing article.
Imagine what other atrocities could be written about so many other troublesome African spots, like Somalia, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Zim...
But with the west clandestinely fueling many of these conflicts as a greed-driven means to an end, as the point was made at the end of that article, who indeed are the greater savages...?
Did you guys see Michael Moore's satirical yet incredible 'Bowling for Columbine' and 'Fahrenheit 9/11'?
I'll never forget that song by controversial Yank rap-rockers Rage Against The Machine music video, Sleep Now in the Fire, when the band and Michael Moore had an impromptu venue for the song's music video.... outside Wall Street Stock Exchange, (and included satirical renditions of Who Wants to be a Millionaire) which led to the stock exchange dramatically closing early and the band and Mr. Moore being whisked away by the police...

Yeah, and Tom Morello remains one of the world's greatest guitarists!!!
(Now plays for Audioslave with the former Soundgarden frontman after RATM's frontman Zach de la Rocha went his separate way.)

I must say, rage has been a favourite back in the days...remember driving through margate with a pal playing fcuk the police loudly...such a funny track! The police, our best friends yet our worst enemy sometimes...
Thank you guys for reading that article. Have this myspace friend who complains about such petty nonsense, and when you read articles like this you want to shake people like that, and let them know how well they have it, how well we have it. I just wish there was a way i could make people more aware of this. I have a friend who is a refugee from there. It is a good life for him here, but i have an idea what hell it must be to have family back home, living in a country like that. He is such an excellent chap... |

Carphone Warehouse in the UK have again dropped the price of the D600, now only £109.95 (approx R1400) when bought with £10 airtime.
Not too shabby...

@da wanqsta: Seriously, who's going to buy a D600...it's an overall crap phone although it's video capabilities are way ahead of similiar nodels from Where it does ultimately suck is at taking pictures...2megapixel my ass, at times it's camera looks worse then a 1.3megapixel.

@ brixster,
Would it not be fair to say that there are many out there who would happily pay R1400 for a D600, who do not know what you and I know as regards the handset's limitations, and probably some just don't care. An example, two D600's were sent home with family on Sunday for some past-pupils of mine who have been after D600's for some time. (They had paid in Rands the equivalent prior to me purchasing them).
No amount of SE-cheerleading from my part seemed to work (bordering on sounding geekish to hopefully override their narrow-focussed approach)...it was a 'sought-after' Samsung that they were after...a kinda blind devotion that perhaps the D500 helped establish amongst many SA consumers.
In short, some consumers quite frankly couldn't be arsed if the phone has a more inferior cam or whatever; it seems that consumers like these are more concerned about what's 'en vogue' amongst their circles of friends...
In examples like these, it's a case of 'sad but true.' |

@da wanqsta: Good point, I suppose you're right many people couldn't care about minor issues like camera quality. For the price advertised I suppose it's a bargain. Just a few questions though, what's the level of branding on these handsets and are they unlocked?

To some people a D600 is a nxa phone and R1400 sounds like a bargain, but personally l think it's a crappy phone.I wouldn't think for 1 sec. to buy it

@ da brixsta,
As it is Carphone Warehouse's stock, there will be no branding on the actual handset whatsoever, not even in the menus.
They will also be completely unlocked.
The only difference is that there will be a few Carphone Warehouse wallpapers and screensaver, all of which can be deleted.
However, CPW do have some branded and locked PAYG stock, such as a few Vodafone-only handsets and the very restrictive '3' network's cellphones.

@Rhino, you could always try blaming it on Zuma... How come they're blaming you for causing the demise of free vlive access? |
