Canīt upload my phonebook to phone. All communication works fine (downloading, SMS sending/recieving, keypad...). When I start synchronizing it is aborted immediately with "Error: synchronize aborted".
I was deleted all contacts from my phone memory and cannot send it back. Itīs really trouble....
I am trying to send it through Bluetooth and IrDa, but results are the same.
Have you some hints how to set my phone or computer?

that has been an old feature of fMA.

1) go to start>setttings>control panel>sounds and multimedia. select sounds tab.

2) find the fMA ("float's mobile agent") entry for sound events, then select "SMS received". select the sound that you want.

3) you're done. enjoy

First.... A HUGE THANX to FloAt!!!

I've just tried FMA 0.09.9 & i cant just belive it!
I'm using T68i with MA600 IR on my IBM PI WindowsME machine.

FMA works WITHOUT bugging with MPM & WITHOUT using any extra port utility like IrCOMM.

I downloaded that vbscript thingz but still unable to get any of 'em to use. May be someone may do simple documantary (a help file or something) to those stuff.
AND FMA also needs a Help file. I know u guyz are busy.. but can't we try. Also I'm personally like to give a help if i can do any.

FMA is sometimes bit unstable but...
...FloAt, YOU ARE A "ONE!" they are searching for...

@winnie

You really need the latest phone firmware for anything to work at all. Which software do you have? (push [->] [*] [<-] [<-] [*] [<-] [*] [1] [1] on the phone, where [->] is joystick right and [<-] is joystick left) At least R3B something is required for most communications software to work at all. With the exception of SE Image Editor, which seems to work with any software version (and possibly the MMS thingie from SE). To troubleshoot the Serial com, use hyperterminal, set it to the com port you have connected the data cable to and set the baud rate to 9600 8bit, no parity, 1 stop bit and hardware flow control. Typing ATZ (and return) in the HT window should render you an "OK".

To everyone thinking about data cables, If you dont intend to do some serious hacking/unlocking/reprogramming of the phone by yourselves, get an IR dongle (I use a BAFO USB dongle) instead, that will make it easy to backup your phone, transfer images etc from/to windows XP without any additional software. IR dongles aren't that expensive and work with most phones (if you ever would get the idea to use a non Ericsson phone, which of course is higly unlikely , but anyway )

Cheers

float - you planning on creating a wrapper for your sync software so that it works with outlook (along with the ms bluetooth stack which doesn't support the serial port profile?)..

@float

(I thougt I posted this earlier, but I must have messed up). I am using Delphi6 now, and have got a fair fix which should work on all phones (i.e. not break anything). To make my source compatible with your, I seem to need an older version of the Unicode library than I can find on the net, maybe you could mail me a zip of the Unicode library you use? BTW don't you need to add me (Sourceforge username bufflig) to your project for me to be able to check in changes? I've sent my email address in a PM to you (I hope ).

Cheers

guys, please don't forget about the current active developer of fMA - crino.

he's the one doing the recent updates, along with some other people. check the fMA sourceforge page.

trivia:
by the way, i think float has mentioned that the "f" in fMA no longer stands for float (which is the original meaning). so we simply refer to it as fMA

@ *,

im a first time user of fMA, recently i downloaded fMA ver. 9.9.

my problem now is, all my inbox and sent messages dont show the names of the sender/receiver, only their cell phone number.

unlike fMA ver.9.5 which i was using before 9.9 i didnt have any problem except for not having long message setting.

@ GOwin

thanks for the help regarding alert tone

the developers hasn't even reached version 1 yet (but that'd be sooner that we think), you're actually referring to ver 0.9.9.

no names and numbers? you need to update fMA's copy of your phonebook. just click on the "phone memory" and hit the F5 key - that updates fMA's copy of the phonebook.

glad to help whenever i can
