@darknoob: What did you think of it? Did you test the video recording and other features?

Like it very much, the UI seems quite fast but the camera itself was really slow, maybe I tested a old prototype? because It didn't have 3G camera.

the video recording is 320*240, it had freezes, didn't look like 30 FPS. maybe because its prototype? K850 also didn't have 30FPS at its prototypes...

I did a macro comparison between K850 and C905, I'll upload it later..

@se_dude

I agree,

I just cannot seem to stomach the 'fact' that Sony Ericsson's Flagship is literally - a Samsung.

Would be sad if it's true - I'll stick with my SO905iCS...which uses Sony technologies - and to think I was considering importing a C905...

Gola, ironic indeed - and what a shame it is.

Sony Alpha.

Now that is just pure stupid fanboyism. The awesome pictures the device takes are not worse now that we should consider they're taken with a Samsung sensor.

But I thought SE said they'd developed an improved larger sensor... and wasn't it supposed to be similar to that Exmor thing?

Even if it is a Samsung lens, at least 's using their own algorithms and interface.

@sony_a

isnt this phone being devoloped by SEJ??

If so then no way is a samsung module possible.Laffen suggested that some people at the press release were talking about a shrunken version of the SE alpha lens

Yeah! They took the 55mm kit lens from the A700 and shrunk it to 5mm.

Edit: The A700 is actually bundled with a 16-105mm lens according to dpreview.com.

Ahh! You meant the sensor - not the lens?

@Xell

'Fanboyism' - a well penned term!

Seriously though - i'm not a 'fanboy' - rest assured Xell - I just feel that as the company is Called 'SONY Ericsson' - you wouldn't expect to see Samsung pop up!

Thats like saying, 'oh yeah - the new BMW 7 Series is an amazing machine, its smooth, suave and the Mercedes Benz AMG V12 does a great job of propelling this Bavarian flagship.....'

@se_dude

As far as im aware, yes - SEMCJ have had a somewhat large part to play in the development of the C905...

@NightBlade

If it is indeed true, that Sony Ericsson have worked on reducing the size of the Sony Alpha (Sony α100, α350, α700 etc) technolgies - then it will do the technical side of things a whole world of good. With regards to the 'Exmor' case -

'While the lens has the “Kodak” label on it, which is Motorola’s senior partner in this project, in reality Kodak provides only software solutions for image processing that have been licensed at that and in truth aren’t even Kodak’s property. I don’t know whether Motorola will be touting Carl Zeiss lens in the ZN5 and whether this has been authorized; but the fact is, just like most Nokia’s NSeries devices, the ZN5 makes use of a Carl Zeiss lens...'

- Courtesy of Eldar (this does not mean I take everything he says for granted).

Might we see Sony Ericsson utilising 'Exmor' technologies, but not publicising it? I can say from experience, that the 'Exmor' name here generates much interest (JPN) - so it would make sense that SEMCJ publicly tout this...
Sony Alpha.
