I didn't mean because of the 3G bands, I meant because of the GSM bands and the lack of EDGE. But it doesn't have 3.5G anyway so what are you getting all excited about?

Where are you getting those specs from? It's a tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 + GPRS + UMTS.

In this picture there are Icons added to the standby menu as you can see.
Is it possible to do it only in P700 or can M600 have the same icons in standby too? How? |

@spins
i dont think its possible in the m600i... maybe it will be possible to dos o later on if the m600i gets the OS update like the p990i is getting in a new firmware later on...

I'm sorry, but I don't have the P700i testsample in my posession anymore. I played with it on the 12th of april.
I made another screenshot then, showing the statussceen and free memory after startup:
Now I've shown you everything I had on the P700i.
Like you, I'm waiting for SE to announce the real deal now..... Trust me, the wait is even harder after playing with it
Thanks a million to DocTorpor and PeterKay for your early previews and heads up of P700
Imho, this is by far the most important screen shot. I guess SE just cannot take it anymore that, when we commented over at my-symbian that that NK actually was "reading our demands" in UIQ 3 threads, when we are all asking for more RAM memory, and answers our prayers with the E90.
This screen shot proves the P700 will be having 128MB of RAM memory (NOT 160MB as some had posted), and the OS plus built in apps took up about 48MB (around the same as current UIQ 3 devices) at boot time, and give us around 80MB FREE at boot time to play with
With this amount of Free RAM memory, believe me, at least 1/2 the issues reported and faced by users of current UIQ 3 phones WILL BE SOLVED by themselves w/o much "tweaking" by SE's developers. Wonder if SE will ever be wondering that the amount of $$$ spent on their developers' man hours in trying to "tweak" the current crop of UIQ 3 phones in order to "solve the bugs" (that are actually caused by the lack of RAM memory), worth the while should SE in the very first place, GIVE EVERY CURRENT UIQ3 PHONES (P990i, M600i and W950i) 128MB RAM memory... and not forgetting all the bashing coming from all fronts complaining about these phones and ended up causing consumers to lose confidence in SE...
I sincerely hope SE do not stop here, and really work hard and keep the P series alive and kicking, and in the next couple of months, name us a true successor for P990i. The P700 seems to lack some very important specs, such as HSDPA (at least 3.6Mbps), QUAD Band, 2.8" - 3" TFT LCD touch sensitive screen (with fast screen refresh rate and one that is comparable to P910i when view under sunlight!!!), TI OMAP 330Mhz CPU or higher, hardware accelerated video recorder (able to record videos in at least 320 x 240 in full 30 fps MP4 and stereo AAC audio) and audio recorder and viewer, 3D OpenGL ES support, FULL QWERTY keyboard that is larger than current P990i and spaced slightly wider like the Treo (to really challenge BB and NK E61/E61i series for email and messaging), animated themes and wallpapers, and oh, PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SCREEN SO DEEP BENEATH THE FRAME, SUCH AS CURRENT P990i, cos it is impossible to tap on the sides of the screen with our fingers
Just a note, but seems like NK did their market research, cos BB Pearl (as with all older BB7xxx series) are NOT selling well in most countries, mainly due to their 1/2 QWERTY keypad (M600i and sadly, the P700 too) that business users dislikes... |

Nice review Be sure to post some videos by the phone
@adnhk1
About the dual letter keys, unlike the Pearl etc., these ones rock left and right. The Pearl uses something similar to T9, but with two letters per key instead of 3 or 4; but that kills the advantage of a QWERTY keyboard.

Thanks a lot peterkey!
A few questions for you;
-Video Recording, is it at 30 fps?
- Music Quality and capabilities
- Does it have the same jog dial as the M600 or is it a 5 way jog dial?
Thanks! |

Well Done PK on the pics and your pointers.
Definitely looks like a handset I will add to my shopping list now! Did you have a chance to check the BlackBerry client on it yet?
