Dude,
If I came on strong, take a quick look at this thread. It has descended into craziness. Several posted suggest that we break this thread down into parts that categorize the bugs, faults, etc.. with the k800i, but this does not seem to be the case. While this thread is very valuable, it is becoming more and more annoying to read some of the posts here.
Now about your problem. We will not know about the green line until they post the update. Will it be this week? Maybe, maybe not. I wish the guy that had posted the date hadn't. Not because he is insincere but because if SE does not release on this date, the guy will catch the flak and then the complaining will reach new heights. If you do not believe me, go back and read this thread from start to finish and see if you agree with me.

I have rechecked for every one, Wednesday is still the date SE are hoping to release the Firmware for the K610, K790 and K800. However this is subject to change
and from a service adivisory I have seen, there is is possiblity due date change now to preliminary scheduled 06w38
There are aprox 40 pages or either changes, modifications, bugs, amendments.
The only fix i currenlty know of is that sometimes the phone doesnt always power on when swicthed of or when the battery has become flat.
This is a firmware error that caused the current problem and will be fixed in the next update.
Not sure if any of you guys have seen this any way, As we all know th K800 doesnt have a Flash light like the K750 has, However there is some software that allows the red led light that the camera uses for auto focusing to become the tourch.
Torch on K800 by Focus Assist red LED
http://torch.advanta.se/
Use this at your own risk, but i thought you might like to have a look.
Any other questions please ask.

If you would read the entire thread rather than jump in, in the middle you will notice that I have made no issue with the posting of bugs, errors, faults, etc... I have even made suggestions along with others how to better classify bugs, errors, faults, etc.... What have you done? Survey says: NOTHING!!! My problem is not with others but the constant complaining about SE not doing this or that. The phone has only been out a short while. Find bugs, fixing them, testing for them and then posting a final upgrade product takes time. As also noted in this thread, I am not the only one that feels this way.
Your apology is accepted.

@Darren,
The torch software is usable and stable and presents no danger. I have been using it since it was released and it is handy. Follow the instructions about the permission though.
The non-powering up issue is very real. Here in Kuwait my friend at SE says people were bringing the phone back until he instructed them to remove the battery, count to 10 and then try again. Also, he was not sure about the release for the update and even went so far to say that SE is almost always late with the release however there has been a large outcry about this phone so maybe they will be on time.

Yes I agree, SE have had many returns regarding this fault and I have seen the Service Adivsory issued regarding the fault. I know that the next firmware will fix this.
I havnt used the light my self and again cant see why it should harm the phone in any way. But i like to cover my self with saying people use it at there own risk (lol) better to be safe.
On another note:
Guys and Gals, Not every one has faults with there phones, to be honest I can say that some people would never see a fault, But places like this are a valuable assett the SE.
I can say the SE do read the threads on a regular basis and i know that Mobile networks also read your threads.
I know that many people on here who try to help other people out like my self work in the Mobile / Computer Tech Industry or any Indsutry to that matter. I My self will always pass on my knowledge and findings, I may not be always correct but will always try to help other people.
No phone will ever be with out bugs and what one phone may have the other doesnt always has to follow.
There are many many different factors that the manufactures have to take into a affect. If 10 people send a phone back out of a batch or 100 thousand saying that this is a bug, then SE as well as all manufactures will probaly never even look at or in some cases think it probally better left as a bug. They could proballly rectify the bug and cause 10 more.
I know this doesnt answer every ones questions or answers but can we please help each other out. You never know if we had such a perfect phone then what would we moan about next lol

How long will what take to respond?
Settings for what exactly?
I assume you mean you have tried to use the Update Service. This error happens sometimes, so try again.
The cost will depend on your service plan but you are using a data service. Not sure about the size.

Regardless of status, farkasg had a valid argument, which you acknowledge in your reply - that you have actively made an issue here from some people posting about the firmware. You may not be the only one who feels this way, but you are by far the most omnipresent voice, littering the forum with as many posts about etiquette than those on the issue you're trying to address.
I think a little empathy and patience with newer members of those not as astute as yourself is needed, rather than responding each time. I'm hoping this reactionary demeanor will now cease. Support your own case on this and plead silence.

In fact, here is the first that I need confirmation on:
----------
"I shot a portrait/vertical picture. If I view it in the album it is in landscape/horizontal, that's normal, no problem. Now I turn it, so it's in the right vertical/portrait position in the album. But If I post it directly to the blog (send > to blog), the picture appears nevertheless in horizontal/landscape on the blog.
Seems to be the same problem as with the pictures you use for your contacts. If they are vertical/portrait in the album, they still appear in horizontal/landscape in your contacts, when your friend is calling or sending a message."
----------
My question is, if you view the picture, select rotate then add it to your contacts / blog it is the output picture displayed correctly?
|
|
No, as I said, I tried the "rotate feature" already. It will show the picture correct in the album, yes. But not in the contacts or in the blog or sms. There it is still not rotated, still shows up as landscape. |
