Have the other SA networks introduced number porting yet?

I cant sleep. I hate it! So i am officially using the russian version of opera since the other one is not working. Have had both on for ages, but this one still works. It also seems to allow a thousand and twenty four characters for posts, so no complaints. I love the russians.

Got alot to post but will leave that for the keyboard tomorrow at work, that is if hellkom have sorted out their shtuff.

My brother mounted our new dvd player into the lounge tv unit, so next time there is a break in they will have hell to get it out. The thing cant even budge. Ha ha!

Want to get a new pc before the end of the year, will have to do the same with it if i want to keep it. Dont see criminals run off with an entire desk with a pc mounted into it. The measures we have to go to in this country...

So tons of stuff from me this week, if i have time to write. Also, chaps, i should be changing my myspace account to a music account this week, then you can come listen to my music:)

@Amawanga Yeah bud, unfortunately - not really a big issue. I am posting now using 'mario2003'. I can't help noting thou - while most people in the forum condemned such a action (even 'enemies'), brix seem to condone it. I am not going to comment further on this, needles to say - account 'hijacking' is actually theft . Given the high theft rate in South Africa even 'enlighten' citizens may now and then 'confuse' what is wright and what is wrong. Even the honorable Tony Ngeni made a 'mistake' - (or was it Tony Leon? I am not into politics - I remember something about Tony, parlament and Jail). @Brix don't take it too serious bud. I know you are a good man :) Greetings from Jeffreys. Mario :D

@mario: I don't condone what happened to you, I just found it funny that someone went to the great effort to pull off this prank.
Next time you need to be more carefull with your passwords and minimise your known activities on the net. It's a weird coincidence that this thing happened to you now coz I warned against this in a reply to coola last week when your name came up.

Someone hacked my hotmail account a few months back (I say hacked, the account is at least 11 or so years old and I've only changed the password once).

I started getting mails to my work from MY account. Scary stuff. So I changed the password and the person eventually went away. Luckily, my hotmail account hasn't been my primary acc for a while.

Still....

Yeah, you are right, I should be more careful. On the other hand my openness on Internet got me a few 'real' friends spread all over the world. Mr. Tetsuo Tsuruta ( one of the directors of Kumamoto Airport Public relations dep. - Japan) to name but one of a handful, which over the years I ended up meeting in person. I found out that, by been open and honest people are inclined to be likewise towards me. Internet or not. Unfortunately there are malicious elements out there. Is not the first time I got into 'trouble' because of my openness. I can assure you - really 'important' stuff I keep of the net. Although I am a Internet user since its inception and I know my way around it fairly well, including encryption systems ('mathematics' and 'logic systems' where the 2 subjects I never skipped classes at school), I have never used Internet banking or any other transactions involving money or goods (of my own) - (I may change my mind thou, only and when 'quantum' cryptography becomes a reality). I am happy to see that you/we can chat without getting to serious

What happened to mario this past weekend should serve as a wake-up to all of us to be more vigilant with passwords on the net.
@Siosal: Since Gmail came along Hotmail became redundant...I don't know why I still maintain my account.

Should i get it for you and send it to you?
I cant get nav4all im hoping its something on their part!

@ jmash...
No probs thus far, there 1 when you download something and if that name of file already exists, it doesnt rename it and save it, it just deletes it...

But thats about it, also when vodacom doesnt recognise it as a k800 but rather a some Samsung crap...

But I think all that will be updated later...

@brix

Me neither. :/ I think I give my hotmail addy out to people I'm still not sure about. Or for news mails. But thats about it.

My upgrade seems to get closer and further away at the same time(October).

I've decided on the w810 (surprise surprise) even though it has the vLive sw. Thanks for all the help though guys.

I hate VLive branding on cellphones. I'll try by all mean to never buy a VLive branded cellphone I just don't see the point of branding the phone.

Anyway I was reading Mario's story, sad and also funny. Sorry Mario, looks and shame to that guy for stealing you account.

So did he change the registered e-mail or he hacked the e-mail first?

Well i got free wap from voda, so i bought a vlive branded phone, as i felt i wanted to use the free wap legally (?). Now its gone, and i will stay as far away from branded phones as possible, AND if voda cant give me my k800 without branding, i will simply cancell my contract and get a contract on another network.

Easy as that.

BTW i read somewhere, i think gsm arena that the k800 will be the first mobile phone with which you can do a firmware upgrade over the air via wap??? Did i misunderstand the statement? Or is this actually a possibility?

Well, my options aren't exactly open. I'm not particularly interested in going to another provider, nor getting a different model (although I have looked).

I've had my voda contract for about 5 or 6 years now. I just can't see me moving to MTN. If I could afford it, I'd buy a w810 sans branding but have no idea where I could get it (reliably, no flea market stuff).

I hate vlive sw. But given the circumstances, I don't have too much of a viable choice. I'd unbrand the phone, but it seems no one can do it.
