@kwiksta: I'm also thinking that it might be too soon to contemplate Blu-Ray (I doubt they've even got a drive out). I know the Athlon processor is quite good for games, just noticed though that the price differential between the two is not as great as I thouht.

All you Ericsson fiends better hurry up, this one looks like a bloody good deal if you ask, pity the R380s does not come with GPRS...it would've made so more tempting.

@ da Brixta,I wouldn't think about going for Blue Ray at this point because it's still in its initial stages and I believe you'll experience problems with it that can frustrate you.Rather give it a year or so,seriously at this point,it's a NO-NO bra.

@786KBR: hey man. Wanna know what ur experience with the k800 has been like? Any crashes or major bugs? Do you like the look and size of the phone? Wanna recommend this one to my girlfriend who has been a long time nokia user. The new pink Z610i looks good for her but the wait is too long. Let me know what you think. Thanks

@jmash: The impact of Blu-Ray is still speculative...Right now there's war of the two formats on the go, until the PS3 gets released later this year in Europe will we know it's acceptance from consumers.

It's always a good thing to buy something, especially electronic devices, after you've seen how the consumers acceptance on that particular device. So blue ray should be given some time.

Just saw that we'll be getting the XBox360 in a month's time but at the ridiculous price of R2700 for the stripped down version and R3700 for the full system. Take2.co.za are even taking pre-orders for the PS3 which will go for R6400.

While browsing the myadsl.co.za forums I discovered that TiVo actually works in South Africa...a brilliant alternative to DVD recorders and PVR decoders.

The con with TiVo is that it still requires someone who's a geek to set it up, it also requires an internet connection to get guide info.

@brad: Don't worry too much mfana phones are famous for their massive price drops and I can assure you the R3000 mark should be reached by January next year...by July the successor to the K800 would have been announced and on it's way into stores.
