haba Abubakar, dont b that hard on me, PNF is quite addictive, interactive and engrossing, once u r hooked it becomes difficult to let go, the engrossing part of PNF is that u ave to read every post and also contribute intelligently, that why it's time consuming and if u miss a days or two post God help cause u ave to read over almost every post so as to contribute intelligently to the topic on board without sounding like a round peg in a square hole. |

What does this- "Sub-Saharan Africa's biggest cellular operator" -phrase mean?
I hope MTN has not given up the prize for "Africa's biggest" and is resorting to inventing its own title.
But, the move will bring (DS)TV on Mobile to many countries where MTN is in operation. I only hope the battery life holds up. Good move.
When wil MTN Nigeria start giving us phones free on contract?

@Brix25: Thats good news, but for us here to take advantage of this, we still need UMTS or at least EDGE to enable us stream video.
I connected to a site called FreebeTV but was unable to view any images as my data connection was too slow.
@Abu: Thats exactly what has happened in my case, I have not loaded my intercellular land line for almost a week.
@Coola: I have neither abandoned nor chewed my Celtel SIM. I'm actually making this post with my celtel SIM, and the connection speed is much faster than yours. I'm getting about 6-7kbps.
I thought you guys knew that the real reson for the increase in interconnect rates for PTO's was actually to make NITEL more profitable for its new owners when they leave office, and not neccesarily because the PTO's weren't making money. |

@amby: It's quite simple...DVB-H is NOT a streaming medium so you don't need high bandwidth (3G/EDGE) to use the service. It's broadcast to cellphones from a tower, from what I've heard the picture quality is quite good.

@pxthomas: Right now it's the Samsung P910 and the Sagem MyMobile TV...but the former is available as an exclusive through MTN.
Basically it's going to work out like this, MTN will provide the phones and DStv will provide the service.

I assume there is nothing from nokia or sony ericsson for now. Well, i think it is going to be exciting for those who can afford the phones and subscription.
Like i read from the link from your post, it says it is only commercially available in Italy and Vietnam presently. Just imagine Vietnam. Apart from that Vietnam war i can't think of anything from that country. It is time to check that country out.

Ok, I get it, its basically digital tv specifically designed for mobile use. I doubt if DVB will sell in Nigeria. |

@all if the price is right i think i wont ave to worry to watch the premiership when my wife is watching some other programme on tv, really it's a solid move by MTN.

@ALL Celtel says there is no more "validity" periods. So why is my WAP and internet refusing to go? I JUST KNOW they want me to load more credit. My M-Tel has spoilt me so... I am reluctant to bother browsing the 'net with my Celtel... just too slow to do the mega-downloading I am always involved in.
I want to download and test a "tunneler" called Your-Freedom. It is 25MB. With M-Tel + Free Download Manager I could get it done... but Celtel...

brother coola i am not dreaming. Right price for me could be N1000.00. But i know that an average Nigerian would not be able to be afford it. Just remember that most guys stopped browsing with their phone when mtn and glo started charging for their gprs |
