Maybe they re-arranged their stock for black friday, or sold out their entire stock including the working display model?... Sorry to hear you drove out for nothing, but they definitely had a display model out that you could play with in the store when I went in on Tuesday. Plus, Sherman Oaks isn't THAT far to drive to get to the Topanga Mall. It's a straight shot on the 101 and right off the freeway... It does suck however to hear that you drove in on Black friday though, sorry about that.
Thanks for the explanation, I'm upset at the situation, not you, BTW. I do feel like the girl that pointed me to the dummy model had no idea what she was talking about anyway. When I first asked her if there was a display model she said they had nothing and when I replied that I'd heard there was one she said they hadn't received them yet. Then another employee overheard us and told her where the dummy model was, which she wasn't even aware of. Maybe there was demo model somewhere there, but I took her word for it, I should have snooped around. Oh well, I do live walking distance from Best Buy, so maybe they'll have one there soon. |

After about a month's use. My X1 (Silver) recently started to switches off suddenly when I close the slider too quickly... this is a random occurences but doesn't happen if it is closed in a slow and controlled way
My intuition tells me its related to the battery and after reading online and did some fiddling around with the battery and the cover (no bending of the tabs yet but will consider) it seems to have reduced the occurence but happening once in a while is still not great! Does anyone know of a permanent fix? or is it time to call in the warranty and let them repair (if they can)/replace (if they can't fix)
Apart from that, I am really happy with the X1 |

Go into settings and then the connections tab. Open "beam" and enable receive all incomming beams.
That'll do it.

Up to six only... Quite a disappointment, but I think it's software is derived from HTC, as their radio also can store 6 stations...Do correct me if you guys have bettter answer.

Hey guys,on hofo & xda there's talk about an xperia recall due to the phone cracks and software glitches. Hope SE fixes the problems soon |

Hello, I am ready to buy XPERIA X1.
The only concern I have is as follows:
Is the typical SonyEricsson LAG present on this phone?
I mean with all SE phones there is a delay from the time I press a button, till the command gets executed. For example with the K850, I press the center menu button very fast for 4-5 times, in order to create new text message, and I am sitting back and waiting/seeing the menus open slowly. I believe this is inherited to SE from good old Ericsson phones..
A serious reply would be appreciated. |

Evening people,
2 things,
1 - does anyone know how to delete an email account once created - i've been through all the menus and just can't see an option.?
2 - how can you setup an account manually without it automatically downloading the settings when it recognises the email provider.? the help box says that there is a tick box to disable the automatic provider search it doesn't appear.

1. to delete an account, go to start -> messaging, select the account and click menu -> delete
if you're already viewing messages in one of your email accounts choose menu -> tools -> options, then click and hold on the account you want to delete until a popup menu appears, then click delete
2. when I create an account it asks for username and password and then on the 2nd screen it offers "try to get e-mail settings automatically from the internet" and its automatically ticked. If I untick that then its all manual from thereon in

ok thanks, I have managed to delete the mail account. however I do not get to see the tick box for the manual settings.. it just comes up with - settings found for vodafone.net. the only time I get to see that check box is if I enter a random provider that is not 'stored' on the phone, but by clicking next it automatically saves that provider as your email address before you can untick the box. hope you get what I mean..

OK I did extensive testing yesterday at Xperia X1 and HTC Touch HD. I can say that I haven't found any lag and in terms of usability X1 is way better of the HTC. I am going to buy it today  |

hmmm with the N97 planned to be released in the second half of 2009 i'd say my X1 should do fine for now!
