@ da brixsta: Haven't done any major hill-climbing;also governed to an extent by some family members who wouldn't be able to pursue anything too adventurous, so I gotta think of everyone's needs and abilities. The ravages of time... Anywayz, tomorrow we head off to Inverness, where the Highlands county actually starts, right by Loch Ness. It's about 160 miles north of Edinburgh. On Thursday it's the long drive back to the outskirts of London. Will be posting loadsa stuff when I have more time over the weekend.

@Brix You should have never bought a branded N70. I checked one the other day in PE. Is slooow - I can't believe people are actually putting up with that. I thought you know better - now you have to pay the fine. On the other hand you are fortunate enough to can afford changing phones every few months :-) Does anyone know where I can get a bluetooth gps receiver for my cell ? Also for who cares, my cell is a 'proper' Apache web server now. Check it here http://www.butoi.tk or without ad. first at my direct link http://gomario.at.openlaboratory.net

@mario2002 and jmash: I'd say the branding on the N70 is mild compared to that found on say the Moto V360. The speed issue seems to be one found amongst all S60 phones, now the P910 is no speedfreak when it comes to browsing menus but it definitely leaves the N70 biting dust even when RAM is being pushed with apps running in the background.

For the reasons I chose to by this phone, I'm happy...it's got a good camera and theres a huge library of applications and games to choose from unlike UIQ....My dream phone would be a UIQ device which incorporates some features of S60.

@ Mario2002, cool about your site...went there...checked it out...nice stuff!

@ everyone, for some reason my Opera Mini 2.0 does not want to work at all...I re-installed it, but it will not start, and it worked perfectly till 3 days ago..The russian Cracked version which i keep around starts up(the other sticking to the startup-logo screen) but does not work....no complaints about that though, as I just use it for the specialised stuff that was jacked into it, but I need my Opera 2.0! Any help?

Oh this weather is great! Love rainy weather! Saw a lightning strike this morning hitting the "mountain", and smoke and fire following.....

@Mario... Yeah nice blog (the one at Blogger)... it seems you are like me... pushing ur "mario" brand in many places. But I have a concern... The other day, I searched for "coolapostle" in google and was shocked at the amount of personal details that were immediately visible: my age, postal address, phone numbers, town... all these were visible by just scanning the search results!

I can just imagine if I had registered in XXX sites and other shady sites... it will be easy for my whole online lifestyle to be pieced together and used against me someday.

Are you not worried about that?

coola: Protecting your privacy on the net is quite simple: Never give out personal information on forums. For instance, if I type my name in Google all stuff that comes up will be in relation to my profession. I don't know why mario2002 goes to the extent that he does to publicise himself on the net, coz I'd hate total strangers to know about my family, where I stay and my line of work...you don't know where the nutcases are lurking.

Yesterday I spotted another negative article about mxit with schools in Cape Town now threatening to ban pupils from using the service...mother grundies are also blaming the chat service for all sorts of evil amongst the youth.

As you guys may have noticed, I'm a liberal on most issues and I always say that as long as parents are actively involved in the lives of their children they would not need outlets like mxit to explain this world to them. What I hate is when parents cede their responsibilities to the State and other authorities like schools to look after their children.

@kwiksta: What's the deal with members changing their usernames? I actually liked tempsonyfreak
Things in sunny(?)SA are still ok, Virgin Mobile have got ridiculous price plans for data and sms and Vodacom still makes you wait an eternity to speak to one of their clueless call centre agents.

Just arrived home after driving for most of the day back from Scotland. I'm about to hit the sack any minute.

@ Kwiksta, whereabouts in south London are you? Are you attending The Smartphone Show in October at the Excel Arena? (Docklands).
