- Have you updated to the latest firmware?
- Are the internet settings on your device correct?

This depends WHERE you buy it! A dealer that got old stock will have old phones... you can look physically under the battery cover of the phone WHEN it was made. If its just recently then its a good chance it will have the latest. Just remember, the fw came out August...!
And I don't even know if SE still produces the P990 since August 2007
I just bought my second P990 less than a week ago and I think it has the latest FW. I bought it from these guys http://www.welectronics.com/?action=show.product&category_id=459
The manufacturing date is 07W29 and for the battery, 07W27. That's around July and so I may have one of the latest P990 that will ever be made if production stopped in August.

Do you I have the latest FW?

Actually the latest fw is R6D28(!) but its pretty close
Did you get ALL the accessories with it and was the charger US version or has it an 'adapter'?
What does it say outside the box on the white sticker in the DPY line?

Go to Internet Accounts and delete all your account settings except Ad-Hoc Bluetooth PAN.Then go to www.sonyericsson.com and get your internet setting sent to your phone.Once youve recieved them and saved them,go to Groups in Internet Accounts and make the settings you recieved Connection Prority 1.Hope that works for you.Good luck.

Yup, I got all the accessories that it should come with when purchased new. After all, I bought it new and the box was sealed. An adapter is needed when charging the phone.

I just updated the fw on SEUS this last Sunday 23, and the fw installed on my P990 is:
Phone: CXC 162037 R9GA001
BT: CXC 162058 R5A01
ORG: CXC 162036 R6E28
This means that SEUS installed an older fw on my phone?? |

Guys, potential P990i buyer. Some questions:
1. How prone is the touchscreen to breakdown? From another forum, some users have reported that their touchscreen just stopped working
2. How can we tell if the unit is branded, unbranded or world generic? Are there any markings in the box or do we have to power on the unit? What are the advatages and disadvantages of an unbranded phone to a branded one?
