Yeah the horizontal unlock slider looks horrible compared to the fancy arc slider we had before. That slider for the unlock caught many eyes, the new one won't.
I'm hoping the final release of 2.1 see speed improvements throughout timescape/mediascape too. The experience in those apps don't look any different to what we have now.
I think I can live with the new look menu slide-up but the I'm disappointed by the lack of speed improvements (from the looks of that video at least).
Still looking forward to the HD recording though.

Talking about speed.Did you see him playing on the Sansumg tablet in the beginning. That thing still needs a lot of work.He presses an app on the screen and it turns black and doesnt come back on again.Thought that was quite funny.

im not going to fuss about the change in Slider.Thats minor for me.That slight lag in Mediascape is still there.Thats an irritation but if the overall performance of the phone is nippier then Im happy.Timescape and Mediascape I dont use much anymore.Im just happy 2.1 has reared its ugly head and its becoming a reality.

I thought the speed was okey/good in the video, but the thing that cought my eyes was the animations (i tend to turn stuff like that off, just to save ram/loading times) i run my x10i now without the animation option. and i prob will turn it of right after the 2.1 install, the slider looked stylish but the arc was uniqe?!?! SE comes up with a new/good idea then gives it up?

The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

Yeah, I noticed that too. He must have sterilised his fingers. However, doesn't the factory screen protector tend to collect greasy fingerprint scum easier than the actual screen beneath it?

I've lost the notification bar at the top of the home screen. How do I get it back, anyone?

Are you using ADW Launcher? If so just swype your finger upward in the homescreen to bring the notification bar back.

@goldenface how the hell did you do that?
I'm also interested in what they use for a screen protector and if anyone here has removed their factory screen protector and since got any scratches on their screen I'd like to know. My Martin Fields protector is annoying me but I lost my original spare and don't trust the 1 jobs from down the road here in Beijing.

I took the one SE puts on right away.. 5 months later.. no issues.. in fact, as someone else pointed out, the screen protector thats shipped with the phone tends to pick up more scratches anyway.. absolutely ZERO scratches on my X10.

Do you mean you took off the factory fitted SE protector? If so I might take the plunge and take it off. I did manage to scratch the original protector and, whilst my current protector has no scratches, I have a speck or two of dust underneath which really rile me and in reflections you can see the uneven thickness of the plastic as well as a very slight discoloration in the reflections.
