Does the facebook panel not "hang" the phone for anyone else? I can use it fine, but then when I press the panel button, the phone seems to lock up....
Yep,
Done the same for me, had to remove the battery, I installed my panel on my memory card (as I do most applications). Seems to be fine after a reboot though.
Bigger problem for me though... all I get is login failed, and after I tried my username/password combination over a dozen times, I give up.
If it won't let me log in, it's no good!
Any ideas before I uninstall it guys?
Chris

Have you tried installing on the phone memory? Some panels will only work if installed on the phone memory.,

Actually base from my experience, If you installed programs on the phone memory it will work fine and loads faster than installing it on memorycard e.g. speed in accessing the memorycard compare to the internal memory in reading the program.

Mine does. No cracks, but the slider is whobbly and the battery cover comes off frequently.
If it gets worse I will see if I can get my unit replaced.

What a shocking indictment for a device, that is most likely not much more than 6 WEEKS old!
X1 owners have already moved on from talking about how great it is, to talking about what does not work and to what extent each others very expensive toy has fallen apart.
What the hell is the matter with surely even they must realise this situation can only lead to one place!
I have been complaining about Sony Ericsson build quality since the days of the P910 and they seem to have learned NOTHING.
I used to really like Sony Ericsson products, but now? I am just cynical, suspicious and disappointed.

1. I think, it is wrong to judge a product from a small number of complains. Judging from the comments, the greats are much more than the complains.... which is common.
2. If you want to judge, try to get a defect ratio from the company. For sony products ( I don't know about sony ericsson), normally the policy is to have a defect ratio less than 3%.... which is very low. And you will surprise to hear the highest number of defect is `no-defect' problem which comes from customers with `know-how' problem.
3. It is not wise to judge a product from small number of complaints. |

Hi Mizzle,
Yeah already tried that, maybe it's a vodafone thing.
I can access it via Explorer and Opera no problem. Oh well, not much else I can do at the mo, will just have to access it the old way...

Have you tried uninstalling it? Then install and possibly do a soft reset (turn it off)?

Yeah unfortunately done all the usual (work in IT, so not adverse to trying anything).
Basically I first installed it on my SD card, which appeared to work, but froze my phone, as mentioned by someone else. Therefore that was the first soft-reset. Panel opened after phone restarted, entered username/password. Click on "Login". It wipes out password (I'm guessing that's normal behaviour?) whilst it tries to connect. Takes a while, and reports that login fails.
I uninstalled, soft-reset, installed on internal storage, tried again - same problem. I don't think location of install matters in my case. Performed another soft-reset, tried again - still no joy. I even resorted to cutting & pasting my password just to double-check. Sooo frustrating... |

Unfortunately for me - I ruled out connectivity issuses.
I tried 3G, GPS, and my home wi-fi - all with the same results.
Thanks for asking though, really hope it something simple - I'm starting to think it's a vodafone issue, anyone on Vodafone willing to tell me differently?

@Nitro Fan:
To add to what p910 is saying, nobody is going to come on here and post only good news. We are here to solve problems and to share information (about mostly negative experiences) with one another. So, bad news is inherent to this forum. This forum won't reflect all of the good to great experiences out there.
It's funny how no one mentions HTC when complaining about build quality.

I might have the same problem in the beginning. the facebook panel was working perfectly in the beginning after the installation. At that time I was using wifi connection. the next day, at my office (this time I use Hsdpa), the panel hang after logging in and I have to reset with the reset button. After that, I failed to connect to my account no matter how many time I try.
later at home, I tried again and this time I was using wifi, and it conncet successfully. However, after that, I tried with hsdpa connection, and it works. since then I have no problem. |

That's interesting... I did try a different combinations of things, with soft-resets inbetween.
Others on Vodafone on xperiax1.net have reported the same problem with "login failed" message.
I will revisit this panel after the bugs have been ironed out, for now I will admit defeat - more to do with "not enough time in the day", to look at it anymore. Especially how it froze my phone 3 times, trying to return using the panel button.
I have seen a youtube on the panel, and it's looks good, but not too upset, as I can still login and reach it the old fashioned Opera browser way .

Yep, it says so on their website, WVGA is not supported (fools! When will they learn!!!???). I was hoping that the WVGA fix on XDA developers could scale it properly though. Not sure if you already have this installed or not. |
