I'll go for Vmobile if i were to choose. That company had a good organizational culture & excellent customer service. i noticed the few changes made by celtel over the past week & i'm so convinced that we have finally witnessed the burial of one of the best companies in Nigeria. Celtel started by increasing prices by adopting a flat tariff of 77k across all networks. they want to start by exploiting Nigerians. they even insisted that i have to move from Vstep which was much cheaper to the 77k plan. i'm sorry for them cos they've just lost a customer. i'm dumping them for MTN extra. |

My choice would be GloMobile post-paid. They still have the most-innovative, most diverse package of value-added-services of all the networks. Plus, I enjoy low tariffs on everything: voice, fax, SMS, network services (including mobile banking and transactions) and GPRS.
I wouldn't think twice about it.

gone tru d tons of post about se vs nokia muscles. hell a sony psp that costs 20k has wifi so whats d fuss.
for free mp3 check mp3000 dot net.
as per network its Mtn for me o,
coverage,stability,availability matters,tho customer care is crap.

Mtel: -2 (cos its doesnt seem to even be considered right now.)
The only real advantage (for me ie) I see MTN has is its coverage on major national highways. But since i dont live on the highway, that doesnt help too much. Glo really started the competition (as we have gisted on past threads) and they have been a bit more innovative.
@pxth: You said more than "no romance with no finance" (by the way, since you posted it i cant get the song out of my head, and i never really liked the song at that!!!) you also said

Hey guys if i were to choose one subscriber i'll go for a celtel although they really don't know who can manage for them almost 3 companies have one thing or another in there. Unlike Mtn really stable, but still go for a celtel.

@pxth: Very Frank!!!! Dont mind her. Usually in cases as such, you'll end up hearing about her being some man's 2nd wife or something!!!! I know of one back in the days that had soooooo many suitors, a bunch of up and comers, in fact. She rebuffed all, fishing for a "ready-made" husband. That was in the mid 90's. She's single and not so...."handsome"...... as she used to be. That's one advantage of being a man. We mature, women age. (At least, most women do!!!!) |

I cannot wait for the Glo response... meanwhile... my MTN line is now enjoying A LOT of attention... the text for Xtracool is actually 5 bucks! The low call tariffs is also great -I can spend more time before the "MTN lady" says, "ONE MINUTE REMAINING!"
The MTN move was totally unexpected and out-of-character. The Coolapostle is impressed.
Who was it here that ate his MTN SIM card a few months ago? 
@all Celtel GPRS has finally returned to my home area after several months... but the wap settings don't work. They must have reached Abuja at last... please check your Celtel SIM card for your area.

That will be me, but not to worry, I've already acquired a welcome back SIM and registered for MTN Xtracool today.
I am reluctant to write off Celtel just yet, but I'd be stupid to let such awoof from MTN go without tasting it.
If I had to choose one network today, I'd still stick to Celtel, because they've served me well in the past and I don't expect them to do otherwise now. (The MTN awoof notwithstanding) |

@coola: I suspect MTN is bracing for the competition from fixed wireless cos. With this unified license out and NCC pressuring them to be in 3 states in each geo-political zone in b4 the year runs out (however impossible as it may seem!!) MTN (and the other GSM cos) have to give offers close to, matching or better than the offers Fixed Wireless cos are currently offering. We’ll see when and what the rest do.

@amby: If celtel wants to survive till 2007 they have to come out with something mind blowing. But im still waiting for you guys to start lamenting on some hidden charge that MTN has put in their coolxtra abi xtracool package. This is MTN we are talking about. If they don’t do something evil, they would be out of character. I remain skeptical for at least a month. If by then you guys are still praising MTN I’ll buy a sim for when Im traveling!!!! (at least that will be my initial excuse!)
