My oh my, i sure missed some posts yesterday (i went to bed @ 8pm)!
My 150 metres of ethernet cabling has arrived... But it's the wrong type 
20 Quid down the drain! Does anyone know if it's possible to convert this cable, which has round end-connectors, with a single gold pin in the middle, to "normal" ethernet?

I don't know what type of cable is it, but if it's the same, maybe there's some type of connector converter RJ45/whatever or whatever/RJ45. (RJ45 has 8 pins)
What kind of cable is it?

it was used for the very first networks. I'm not sure that some sort of convertor exist but old ethernet cards have still that round thingy ( some of them ). So can you still look for those ethernet cards ( 5€ max )
