I recently got a C905 and debranded the Vodafone firmware to the current up to date generic english/UK firmware R1DA032.
I have the conversation/SMS chat facility.
Either it's a regional issue or you guys who can't find it are looking in the wrong place.
Hope this doesn't offend anyone, but to get into conversation/SMS chat you select Menu/Messaging. Then select Inbox. Once viewing the Inbox there are two tabs across the top of the screen. Slide to the 2nd tab using the directional pad to select conversation/SMS chat mode.
Hope this help or confirms if there are regional issues.

I did as much as I thought I could to update with this feature, but even some of the most up-to-date fws seem to not have the feature. I'm in the same position as you but I've managed to get the sms chat using the customizer xml later on in this post. What fw did you use?

If you're referring to kinky-chinky's FW version then he is using the latest, R1DA032. |

I used that one too, but although it had the smile shutter it didn't have the sms chat, very odd...
Thought it can be unlocked with a tiny bit of xml, very suss.

Originally my APAC ANZ R1DA032 also have no SMS-chat feature. I enabled it using the xml magic. |
