However, I still believe that the original driver + Photoshop is the way to go.

Yep. I had put my stock camdriver back till Kop and Number1 new camdrivers...
and I didn't feel any real difference

One thing I don't get.. about the ISO settings... If the camera can adapt ISO speed... what's the point in changing it?
There's a preset speed, and the camera can correct that value a little. so by changing default ISO settings you're forcing the camera to work in a different ISO speed range.. causing some photos get too dark or too bright, like the long distance [not thaaaat long ] night shots that are awfull in some mods, and some oversharppened pics in sunny days...

Resuming it makes the camera unable to handle the light to a correct balance.

Am I right?

BUT
as someone said before, in this thread, modded camdrivers can save the time of phtoshopping...
after a party ie.

So, for people who wants to shot pics and share, modded camdrivers are the thing.
For people who wants the best pictures, stock drivers+noiseware community sw+photshop is the thing.

The best thing is that now we can fast switch camdrivers with "Max shortchut method" =]
without FAR

Can someone please confirm in the stock driver (2.5), that under 'OTHER SEQ'- '// JPEG settings' that 'JPEG_FIRST_QUALITY' and 'JPEG_LAST_QUALITY' are greyed out (ie has // before their #SET_REG)?

//================================================
// OTHER SEQ
//================================================

seq_init= // $d0014
#WAIT_FOR_MUTE_OFF
#CHANGE_MODE(34,01) // Draft mode
#SET_REG(1c,01) // JPEG_CONTINUOUS_NUM = 1
#SET_REG(10,01) // YC_CONTINUOUS_NUM = 1
#SET_REG(32,00) // AF_SCAN_MODE => 0 Normal one focus window

// JPEG settings

#SET_REG(12,13) // JPEG_RETRY_LIMIT = 0x1388 = 5000d milliseconds
#SET_REG(11,88) //
#SET_REG(19,4B) // JPEG_INIT_QUALITY = 0x4B = 75d
//#SET_REG(1A,3C) // JPEG_FIRST_QUALITY = 0x3C = 60
//#SET_REG(1B,3C) // JPEG_LAST_QUALITY = 0x3c = 60
#SET_REG(20,50) // JPEG_BURST_QUALITY = 0x50 = 80d => 700kB images

Can someone try to put longer shutter speeds like in the k750/w800/w810 drivers? It would take better night shots

EV Value is correcting for overexposure, oversharpening cannot be fixed by EV, that's why I just put sharpening to 0 instead 05 or 06, cause 0 is far enough to make picture more clear, while maintain reasonable amount of sharpening.

And side effect picture taken with this value has more accurate in term color balance with the real things.

about the over sharpening in daylight photos can be compensated by adjusting your EV values to negative... have try that?!

@Juming
Once I asked if Number1 could use something of your driver, and he said you used default settings.
Than I said, that's why its good!
LOL

BTW

I think people are forgetting about this software that comes with K800
Photoshop Album Starter Edition

Very easy to use... perfect for people who don't know how to use photoshop. It's a starter edition, very simple to use!
Just what people here need...

i like a the modded camera. my k810i (and my dads) are extremely bad. My uncle's k800i made far more better pictures, but now they are the same.

Yes, I use mostly on standard setting, except for sharpening, ISO when using flash, and video frame rate, I use other than standard

What ISO did you use for flash? Have you changed any colour temperature?
