That frenchman has ALWAYS got great photos in his SE Reviews or Nokia Review.

Just remember that that is from a Nokia fan-predominant site.

the "frenchman" is in fact a SE employee...

can you imagine that guy doesn't have one, but TWO W960's !!!

It's a hard life

That new stylus is reinforced with a rubberised tip. The smokey one is quite bendy and a bit too pointy, so I would suspect the new one is much better to use.

I'm surprised that people aren't doing shots with album art on the walkman player, it looks much more effective than the default turntable icon.

The two buttons at the bottom left are for the 3x3 menu and the shortcuts. The centre softkey doesn't always say 'menu' so the new button is definitely useful.

You tend to get better quality screens in the final prototype, so don't go too much by what you see from those shots. I wouldn't be surprised if they brighten up the audio control lights too, they do look a bit weak compared to the keypad illuminations.

The audio control lights are currently only lit when in the walkman application or if you have the walkman on the main screen selected.

Why do I want this phone so much? It's getting ridiculous...
A couple of months ago I had no plans on getting a new phone and BAM!! SE throws this phone in my face and I get all hyped out about it! And it gets even worse not knowing when I'll be getting my hands on it... Enough about that!

Jimster71: Talked to my classmate and he said that the included headphones will be HPM-80 or 82. What about those you can see in the official SE pictures? They look way nicer than the 80 or 82s!

I don't really see the kit that comes bundled with the phone, I just use a set of HBH-DS970 bluetooth headphones.

**edit:
one more thing, on the previous page, rosco made a comment about the screen's contrast ratio. while I don't feel contrast ratio (whitest whites and blackest blacks) are neccessarily a problem on this MOBILE device, I do think brightness could be improved, only because it appears the display is fighting against the GLARE produced by a glossy hard-topped screen. Although I'm thinking also that maybe the brightness level on these devices is turned down to default (isn't P1 by default set around 60%???)

I have had my w900 for almost 2 years now and the first thing i did when i got it was to lower the brightness from 100% to the lowset 50% due to save battery, and i don't need it to be that bright, when it's set to 100% many of the brighter colors seems to smear together and i lose contrast and image quality. but there would always be an option to lower/raise it i belive.

IMHO most of these devices are ready for release, just need some tuning...SE has been preparing this for a really long time. I think they will be quickly out in the market

And I think you talk BS You've posted that misleading 'rumor' almost 3 months ago and it looks like we have to wait another 2. Indeed some countries may not get it untill christmas. In the fast living cell market only Ares will call that 'quickly'. And the best part is - some SE fans did beleive him - WTF

Yeah, that was a bit freaky to get used to at first, but you soon get the hang of it.

I keep trying to find the key on the front of my P1.

hey jimster... still wondering what your position is at SE

also wondering if your employment there lends you any insight as to when the W960 will enter production, or what's left to be done on the unit before that happens?

Official release is SUPPOSED to ship with the HBH-DS220's And the HBH-82's I think. BOTH BT Stereo headset & a wired stereo headset.

This package is getting nicer by the minute.

however my heart is with the K850i ..... hoping the DVB-H model does NOT loose any of the EDGE quad-band/Tri-band HSDPA features and added UIQ3.2 non-touchscreen
