Just realized it's almost 1 am in the UK! So probably no good lighting available. But I can surely wait. It's not like the phone's come out already and I need this to make my ultimate decision.

If you insist....
Don't feel pressured in any way. I can wait just as much as the next guy. I'd also like a direct P700i versus K800i camera comparison. Pictures of the exact same thing at the exact same time.

Is it 2.2'' or 2.4''?
Is it my eyes or this p700 is wider than the m600? in the hand of (peterkay?) it feels large!

A lot of its target audience are going to be put off mainly by the lack of hsdpa, which it really needs, everything else is covered imo for its target audience anyway.
Thankfully WiFi is enough in my eyes...
I'm slightly worried about battery performance as my M600 is alright, but only when 3G is off... and the P990 was worse with its WiFi and Camera... |

I agree, wifi is enough for fast browsing and mainly downloading larger files at home/work and gprs (not even 3g) is enough for me when out and about. Theres no reason for me to download a 10mb file on the move. I have hsdpa now and it kills the battery but most people want it in their next phone.
@vege
Its 2.6'' screen

Could the final version be quad-band? Any chance of this or EDGE support? I'm drooling over the P700 but here in the U.S. quad-band is a biggie. As a T-Mobile guy I'm also big on on EDGE. Hey, it's all we got!

Here, here. It would be nice if there were some *ahem* changes between now and when the final version hits the stores. If not, I'll just wait for the next best quad/edge SE phone. After all, it's only the beginning of the year. |

once they set a spec, they hardly ever change it. Better off hoping for a p700a now that se are suggesting more of an effort in the us. |

@PeterKay
first of all, thanks a lot for the fantastic pics and mini-review!
aside from the requested screenshots of the music player, just a few more questions:
- can you adjust the equalizer manually now?
- can you now make playlists from within sub-folders or is it still the same system as the current crop of UIQ3 phones?
- can it read tags of eAAC+ files now?
thanks and keep up the fantastic work! |
