That's what I get too. Less than you, but I have also bluetooth problems with my gps dongle.
I think there are a couple of w800i with memory problems.

Hi all,

I just debranded my three uk SEM K800i using wotanserver. Worked like a treat. However, When I go to Play Now on the main menu It does'nt seem to work when I'm using 3G, only when I'm on gprs. Which setting does it use?

Cheers

If your phone is crashing, try a master reset before assuming it is the firmware. Time and time again I have seen people put up with crashing phones for months, just blaming the firmware.

If the master reset does nothing, then it was a waste of time, but seriously, there is no crashing problem with the latest firmware, so I feel if you only want to blame firmware then you might miss out on fixing your problem. I have run both the K750 and W800 lastest firmwares on three different handsets without one single crash. The firmware is VERY STABLE.

I have also seen first hand many instances where my own phones or others that people bring me to fix are crashing or unstable, and about 90% of the time all that is wrong is the firmware has gone south and needs a master reset (this reinstalls the phone os from the firmware image). The other ten percent of the time the phone needs a full flash or firmware upgrade - in other words not that often.

So if you haven't already, bite the bullet and try a master reset. Remember that flashing with SEUS is not a full flash, it is main flash only, so flashing with SEUS sometimes requires a master reset straight after the update to bed the new firmware in properly. I have often had problems after a SEUS update that a prompt master reset fixes, never to trouble me again.

Ciao!!!
I read the forum every day, since the issue about file transfer, as I had that problem.
So, I know each firmware and I know that this one is perfect for transfer but it doesn't work with bluetooth at all.
I use a gps software, maybe u can try it, (odgps) and it works with every cell I tryed with the same bt gps. Not with my w800i.

I did a master reset. I did a soft reset. I did twice the fw upgrade. I tryed every kind of option combination and I know, _I'M SURE_ , there is a bug in java memory allocation.

Know why?
With a different theme from the default one, Odgps don't start to update even the altitude. Less memory u use -no clock, no background, no screensaver- better the application work. Even like this it stops updating speed and altitude and it hangs. If u try to quit it hangs and bluetooth crashes.

I don't know if this is only a personal issue, since I don't know someone using odgps and a bt dongle. That's why I opened a thread some days ago.

Then I get all the same things of the guy before.

More! I get a reboot when trying to add a phone number to the same contact (francy -> add office number -> 002388... -> save -> restart) and the number is not saved, always!

I never used FAR, or failed a firmware upgrade nor have a k750i@w800i. Mine is a pure w800i with the latest firmware, which IS NOT STABLE.

The firmware upgrade via SEUS IS NOT A 100% FLASH. ONLY MAIN is flashed not FS. So to be sure it's not residual corruption of the FS on your handset, you must do a complete reflash using far. (since you've already tried master reset - sorry, I assumed you hadn't, my bad)

Or just take the phone back, since you shouldn't have to flash with far (and void warranty) just to have your phone working properly. I assure you there are no stability problems with the latest firmware. There is a hardware problem with YOUR handset possibly, but not the firmware version.

I use Bluetooth all the time. If yours develops problems when using odgps, then maybe that is causing the problems and not the firmware? Maybe it's just not compatible with the W800? I don't know, but trust me, if you keep looking to the firmware as the cause of your problems then I think you are going to get nowhere very fast.

btw I have a far hacked, K750->W800 with all da shit you can change with far, including the menu, and it is stable. Bluetooth is stable. Everything is stable. And I've done this to several handsets, all stable. All on latest firmware. Oh yeah incase you ask, I didn't hack my K750 until I had been on R1BC002 firmware for several months, and it was stable then as well.

I wish I had the guts to flash my phone with FAR, or the inteligence to understand how it's done.
Technical assistance here in brazil = none, niente, nada.
And as my phone is branded SEUS still acuses 008 is the lastest firmware....

Cool isnt it ? I cant use the modded camdrivers, I cant play most of the new 3d games or use apps without having to restart the phone dozen times.... =)

Would a gentile soul guide me through the process? I dont really wanna screw a 1.800,00 bucks cell phone doing something stupid.... yeah .. thats how much a w800 cost here..... 1.800,00 bucks.

Im not familliar with davinci and far.... scares the hell outta me.

I tryed a chinese, black, unnamed gps bluetooth.

It worked perfectly!!!!!

So, I am the only one on earth to have a gps bt not compatible with a single phone.

UPDATE: it's not true. There is a bunch of gps mouses that doesn't work on SE. Take a look at this post on SE developers forum:
http://developer.sonyericsson[....]hreadID=20492&start=0&tstart=0

I tryed the Altina GBT-708 with a N80, 8800, K750i.
They all worked, except for the w800i with latest firmware.

So beware of this bt gps device.

Thanks max_wedge for help.

Now I'll do some hack to the video section of my w800i.
