Just read anandtechs review of htc one.
I did some digging, turns out the display is curiously marked as being from JDI (Japan Display Inc) who also was behind the DNA and Butterfly display. In fact there’s even a press release from JDI about a display with those exact same specs (5.0 inch, 1080p, 443 PPI). Of course the One is even higher, 4.7 inch, 468 PPI, no doubt this is a different revision. Interestingly enough I believe Samsung display is also a secondary supplier based on the string I saw dumped.

WTF? How can HTC get better displays than Sony from a company Sony practically owns?! |

Interesting. So Sony are planning to do both a 6.44" phablet and a 7" tablet, with the phablet seemingly more powerful than the tablet. That seems odd; it would seem to split their market in that form factor. |

Not odd at all. Phablet phones are going to be at or near the top of the pricing scale for mobile devices, likley anywhere between 600 - 1000 dollars depending on various factors. A 7" tablet has to compete with far less expensive devices like the Nexus 7 and iPad Mini, so it makes sense for them to not have it as powerful or premium as the phablet. |

It'll be interesting to see how it compares, especially in the area of connectivity, build quality, materials and chipset. Currently, screen size differentiates between phones and tablets to a sufficient extent (when coupled by the absurd "it needs more miniaturisation and therefore is more expensive" sophistry) to render cost comparisons between the two problematic for most consumers.
But if they're looking at devices with (practically) the same screen size then I wonder how many customers will justify the extra cost (looking to be quite a few hundred dollars) for the phablet. I wonder to what extent, therefore, the tablet may cannibalise sales. |

If ray 3 comes with 720p resolution it will be the fastest phone ever of 2013. It will be faster than One Sony because it will push less pixel than One Sony |

It doesn't matter if they own it or not, the same situation happens at samsung when they make a phone, SMD and the memory branch of samsung all have to bid for a contract with samsung like any other company. But once they do win, most the money spent by samsung technically ends up back at samsung |

No more Walkman, no more feature phones.
It will be difficult for me to still be a Sony fanboy. |

Would or could the release date of the Sony one (Honami) be moved forward as in august, september or just right after the new Iphone is released? Or is the release more connected to how with readiness of the device?
Also sorry if that has been asked, but will Honami be running the new version of android? ver 5? |
