If sonyericsson is showing great stuff at MWC(as people keep saying), doesn't that mean we'll have to wait till around dis time nxt year for release?(e.g Satio) |

the U1 is pretty but all in all the specs are nothing to sneeze about. all this time of wanting japanese domestics, its sad that the smart phone allowed for the leap in phone tech. still WAYYYYY better than our dumbphones, man but if it werent for companies playing catch up, carving out a new niche, my k850i would still be the hot shit! |

On Dutch web site Tweakers, someone claims to have held Rachael recently and also got to speak to employees from SE.
He claims, that the device won't be called the X3, but instead likely the Xperia X10. Perhaps someone here can confirm that?
SE will release it in the 'first 8 weeks of 2010'. The software (SE's Android skin) is not completely done yet, according to him. Also, hardware specs should be as has been rumored. |

how come? it cant be, can it? if we have X1 and X2 why on earth it would jump to X10. i know there are U1i, U10i and U100i for Yari, Aino and Satio. but this has no sense to me.

I think it makes sense. They obviously (if this is true) want to standardise their naming across the range. I have to admit it will probably get pretty confusing eventually though. How many times have SE had a different naming strategy in the last few years?

they've had 1 the last year or before last year, right?
so they will have to make an scheme for the future phones as they did with the previous one.

I like the fact they are using names on some phones e.g Aino & Satio. Gives the phones more character IMO.

Yes apparently it's out in select countries like Sweden. I'm sure more countries will have it soon, but to be honest I think it lost a bit in Satio and Aino's thunder. It is very much like the W995 and W705 that came before it, so maybe it's not different enough to warrant most people's attention.
Anyway, that's not rumour.

Guys, naming it X3 when Nokia already has an X3 wouldn't make sense at all. I can just imagine the little confusion it will cause. I also think that the healthy rivalry came into effect here, SE probably felt they would be 'following' Nokia by going X3 so better go up to X10. Besides this is more of a beast than Nokia's version.
I hope the 'first eight weeks' mean January cause this is my next phone after my beloved P1. Can't wait!

like most everyone here.. i'm waiting for Rachael. it's great news that it will be announced next month and available early 2010! i can't afford it right now anyway. What i want to know is whether there will be an american version and if not, will the standard version support all american 3G and high packet data speeds... (ATT preferrably)..

Hmmm, could be, but why is Xperia Pureness, which doesn't have WinMo, X5, then?
