It is fully stable phone now. But IMO second statement is true only if power user is somebody who absolutely demands huge multitasking functionality. Otherwise I would say that even the power user can be much satisfied with the phone. For example I use almost every P990 functionality and don't have any problem. It is my inseparable companion when it comes to business, travelling, learning a new language, music, books, camera, internet etc.

More or less same here. However, unless you have recently restarted the P990, you are very likely not to be able to use RSS+Opera+Messaging (e-mail)+WLAN at the same time. This shouldn't be considered power use...
I was testing fring last week and couldn't get Opera to open until fring was closed, similarly couldn't send an email until both Opera and fring were closed.
The scenario that the P990 can't handle is this: using fring (skype) I was asked to send a certain file I had previously downloaded with Opera.
To open Opera I had to close fring which really is RAM hungry...
After saving the file on disk, I opened the messaging application which caused Opera to be shut down. Realizing I needed the email address which I had to get using fring, I saved the email as draft, opened fring, copied the email address, opened messaging, causing fring to be shut down, and finally managed to send the email over WLAN.
Actually I was satisfied that everything worked but the process was by no means multitasked. Tedious it may be, but as long as you don't have any serious multitasking or speed expectations the P990 does get the job done.
If we have a new fw with the bugs removed, I think I can live with it until the end of my warranty (end of 2008).
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD

Here is my 2 cents:

In a nutshell, the P990 is quite stable for general use. When one starts multi tasking, this becomes an issue as depending on the RAM demands of the applications being run, one may only be able to run a single application at a time or as many as 3!
If it is to be it is up to me!

Try cnn.com
After a couple of pages Opera really slows down. With the previous version it used to close the application, not so much with the current R6 version.

It does open the page much slower but what I like with R6 is that I can scroll through it without waiting to be fully open. Also no app exit or phone restart, far from it.

@koto, depends on which applications you have running. Unlike the previous versions, I can run WLAN+RSS+Opera+FM radio without a problem and that is about the limit, which is good enough for me.
