^the steady shot only applies to video though as far as the white paper is concerned.
the lossless zoom, i believe, only applies to taking still pictures and only up to 3x. beyond that, the digital zoom kicks in, which is definitely NOT lossless. in video mode, i think it only does digital zoom. there's no way that building is only 3x zoomed
all in all, every sample video i've seen has been VERY impressive. autofocus has been fast, transitions from bright to dark light has been fast, audio has been great, clarity is great, and of course the stabilization has been top notch.
i haven't seen other video samples from note 3 or G2, but i'm willing to bet Z1's video capabilities is gonna be tough to beat.

@Moogoo
I saw a clip with G2 in action where the user walked and it wasn't bad but you clearly knew he was walking.
In the clip by Z1, it looks more like he is hovering.

@mckinley - yes.. totally! that hovering feel that you normally only get with a professional handle to minimize shake. it's very impressive.. no doubt.

it's still too early to say. we don't know how careful the guy was with his hand movements while shooting that clip. we have to see the devices tested more objectively under similar circumstances.
i really hope sony nails it this time. there was one video of the xperia z having bugs with its digital stabilizer (taken by "Blunty" on Youtube). i'm earning my way to an xperia z1. the initial sample photos have been really good. |

I can\\\\\\'t believe some people are calling LG g2 a level on competition for XPERIA Z1!!!\\r\\nIMO z1 wipes out the floor with g2. \\r\\n1.Screen - Head on z1 would easily beat the crap out of g2 with it\\\\\\'s really eye popping colors + really good contrast levels and more than sufficient viewing angles only with some degradation at extreme(that is still debatable, we don\\\\\\'t know how good retail screens would be)\\r\\n2. Camera - z1\\\\\\'s camera matches 1020\\\\\\'s performance in most cases even with this early firmware. So the 13mpx exmor r of g2 is nothing in front of z1!!!\\r\\nAs far as optical stabilization is concerned, nobody knows what kind of(physical or digital) z1 has! Stupid Sony never talks about many important and important features. It has SteadyShot which is doing great job judging from above video. \\r\\n3. Processing power and gpu in both are same! It\\\\\\'s a tie here !\\r\\n4. As far as designs are concerned z1 wins hands down. Such a masterpiece to look at ! Blended with the most premium of materials out there it\\\\\\'s such a beautiful device to look at. Some might bring in small bezels to site g2 a better device but the truth is that whoever cares about overall size in segment of 5\\\\\\" phones is an idiot! He/she should better go with phones with screen of 4.3\\\\\\" or 4.6\\\\\\". (and for those Sony is bringing in z1 mini). \\r\\nAlso bezelless devices only make handling of a big phone difficult with accidental presses and poor horizontal viewing experience! \\r\\nSo z1 wins here too !\\r\\n5. Software updates - Simply no match between Sony and LG. Sony wins hands down !\\r\\n6. Xperia z1 is ip55/ 58 certified with WATER PROOF AND DUST PROOF !!! G2 is zero here too ! \\r\\nSo this is end result - Xperia Z1 is the phone to beat until march 14 when new Z2 will be unveiled !!!

That's your opinion, doesn't mean it's gospel. And the G2 screen has way better colours to the Z1 as I have seen the Z1 in the flesh. Seeing the G2 on videos the colours look way better. And I doubt the Z1 matches camera performance of the 1020 not even close.

^exactly. it's all a matter of opinion. we ALL see colors a bit differently, so a lot of times, it comes down to personal preference. the one who is deemed "best" usually is the one who produces the best colors to the majority of people or is given that title after a scientific analysis.
I'll be getting Z1 though! wish there was more news on C6906 availability.. all the lack of info about it is very frustrating for a consumer in my situation!

are you sure the htc one is not being deliberately shaken? i'd be really happy if sony's digital stabilization is really this great but the other two phones seem to have very unnatural wiggles.
but well there's an iphone vs lumia 920 stabilization comparison on youtube that proved how digital stabilization isn't really that inferior.
