K750 / W800 Firmware Overview |

Hi everybody, I just got my hands on a K750i from ebay and made my way to these forums. I wanted to update my phone from the R1L002 to the newest version, but whenever I fire up SEUS, and go through the steps of updating, I get a message saying that my phone's software is up to date. Does anybody have any ideas why it isn't working?
Here is the software info from my phone:
R1L002

I guess this phone originally came from Hong Kong, but I don't know if the previous owner tried using domething like DaVinci or some other program that would make it be rejected by SEUS...Does anyone have a suggestion for what I can do to update it? |

I believe your K750 had been 'engineered' improperly before, it might be flashed by 3rd party, and failed in the middle or unlocked or debranded from Operator. Try a full master reset-you'll lose all data-and update once again. Let's see what happen.. |

Thanks for the reply. I gave the master reset a go but the flash still gave the same message...any other ideas? |

I guess your K750 is 'brown'. Therefore, it's rejected by SEUS. You should make it 'red' by DaVinci..please, browse more in many threads here. I have updated more than 10 times via SEUS-of many K750 phones-and had no problems at all. The phones are all under trusted SE dealers, so they're always 'red'.. |

I think you need to use Davinci to flash the firmware. I'd go for R1CA - imho the best so far. Go for Europe2 - red.
see www.davinciteam.com
When you are about it I would go for the W800 fw as it has a full media player. I suspect the W810 fw will work but not sure - can anyone help (W800 fw isnt being updated).

It's quite unlikely that the w810 will work on the w800 hardware. It may, but even if it does the main features of w810 ie: improved screen, EDGE, won't be available, nor the extra button that the w810 has.
Imho, it won't work at all for the same reason the t630 software won't run on a T610 - the t630 has a different screen design. Now the interesting thing is, the T610 can run the T630 software, but the screen is blank! I tested it, and actually took a photo which i copied to the pc with fma! But without being able to see the screen it's useless.
There are more hardware differences between the W800 and W810 than there are between T610 and T630. So even if you could use a w810 lcd I'd still be doubtful the w800 would run w810 firmware.

Can someone tell me what is the size in MB of the R1CA firmware? Got my K750 yesterday but when I did the service status, I see R1B002 at the top then EROM: R2B001. Which one is actually installed as well?

@max_wedge
You're right - I thought the change must be more than just the joystick.
BTW: anyone opened their K750 - I have T6 but some instructions about how to do this would be appreciated. I want to clean out the joystick. |

nada.
Not released yet. R1BC perfectly fine, R1CA has no real improvements.

I'm doubtful that R1CA021 will be released for W800i.. |
