Negative viewpoints and comments about the X1 are welcomed. We want to learn from each other. However, watch how you write your comments. Write in an inflammatory way, then you're basically asking for it, and there are many here would be more than happy to oblige you. |

Bloob.
this is not a perfect world, hence no one would comply to your logical request. i have had the device 3 days now, and it is surprisingly and atonishingly fast, bug free, responsive and solid. we have thousands of shadow bloggers in here getting paid by stupid manufacturers just to come in and mess out our (post purchase analysis). i wish these guys have a real life.
anyways. the X1 made me restore my belief in SE again. i remember for the past 2 years, everytime i tried a new phone, i had this inner feeling of skeptisism that the phone will soon malfunction - software hang - etc..
now i am not having this feeling at all. you may say HTC. well, you should see the bigger picture you short sighted people. it is not only OEM practice (for those of you shadow life-less bloggers, OEM means original equipment manufacturer), it may be something being cooked under the table that neither you, nor me will know it until it happens.
i wish the moderators do something about it. we can name 4 to 5 people in each section, vomiting all over the place. and we need someone to wipe them out !!!

The madness of Expansys UK, the X1 is now £665 SIM free! http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=163411
Do people really pay this kind of money when the X1 is £499 elsewhere? |

My mom was like 'OMG! XPERIA X1!'
and I was like WOAAH! I said 'Get the black one...' then she said 'I love Platinum.'
So she bought one yesterday and still inlove with it...
Any chances on how you can put the Sim Contacts to PHONE?

contrary to popular belief there is a camera next to the earphone speaker. i believe a light meter is on the other side to help with brightness and contrast of that image captured. they werent going to release a 3g smartphone without the ability to do two way video calling were they!
i have been playing with mine for a couple days now and the jury is still out. not quite sure if this is one step forward and two back or vice versa. perhaps someone on here can help? i need advice on certain aspects.
1. is it still possible to type a text message with one hand easily, as it has been with all the P-series?
2. why do i not seem able to copy files to the handset using my pc? (it seems to be read-only in windows explorer)
3. has anyone been able to make it work as a modem for their laptops yet, either by bluetooth or usb? |

@indrawan,
as said by other, it is very likely that the zip file that you have is the .cab file. In that file you will see a lot of xml files. You don't have to unzip. Just copy the .cab file to X1 and execute directly.
@simon69
1. if you want to use one hand operation, you have to install a different keyboard/keypad. I suggest you to use this touch-IT blackstone keyboard from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442154
2. to copy file to your handset is straight forward. once you connect you x1 to the pc using USB, your pc will have a removable disk just like when you connect a usb drive. Then, you can copy and paste. |

You really can't be serious can you? do you have any proof at all of your massive conspiracy theory to support this absurd theory of yours as this is what you claim.
" we have thousands of shadow bloggers in here getting paid by stupid manufacturers just to come in and mess out our (post purchase analysis). i wish these guys have a real life. "
Seek help as your not paranoid but everyone is out to get you and the X1. Seriously it's a smart phone it isn't going to be best for everyone none ever are. There will always be those that think it's great and those that don't like it. So what that doesn't mean there is a conspiracy and people being paid to blog against it by other manufacturers as that's just absurd follow your own advice and get a life.
@Jah
I noticed that last night and was pretty stunned and have no idea how or why they think that's a good idea but i suppose if people still buy them at that there laughing all the way to the bank.
On E -Bay the price seems to of leveled out now at between £380-£420 plus postage so a reasonable saving can be made. It doesn't seem to make much difference to the price if the X1 is from VodaFone, O2 or Sim Free so as i said if you look carefully bargains can be found even on a sim free one.

Am i the only one on here that thinks that most people buying X1 for the panels, are not thinking about it the right way?
I'm reading how "SPB is better, faster", and "TouchFlo3D is the way to go", and stuff like that.
The panels interface, unlike all the others, is there to give you the choice of All of them!
I have , thanks to the people over at XDA, who are improving the original concept from SE, Both SPB, TouchFlo3D also, as everyone else has, Win Mo Today screen al running reasonably happily together.
What i'm trying to say is, I HAVE THE CHOICE AT MY FINGERTIP, at any time.
To expand, if i really wanted, there is no reason i couldnt install Winterface as well, and any thing else that comes out.
No other phone, that i know of, at present, can give you this choice.
The defence rests its case.
Thank you.

Quite true Dogmann, Bloggers receive incentives to post positive things about certain phones, not the other way around, i too could point out a few of those on here, most are quite decent chaps, and i count a few of them as good friends

It's the OS...
WM gives you all this customizability + expandability + endless world of software for everything..
If anyone here is aware of ANY other OS which can even only 'come close' to WM in all these aspects, feel free to share it with us...
Btw, I am extremely bored by these noobs dropping in and talking bullsh*t about this phone or the WM UI in general.
Can't speak for the phone as I don't own it, but the comments about WM are just redundant.
Of course everyone is entitled to share his/her opinion as this is what forums are for, but such childish, rude, pathetic and exaggerating words as can be found in some of the previous pages is imo just the proof of a lack of intelligence & common sense.
If you don't like the phone and/or OS or if you lack the interest, patience and/or the intelligence required for WM, just stay away and go for whatever suits you best. As simple as that.

The only downside of ALL WM devices is that they lag a little, otherwise all the points detailed below are quite true.

Well, As i've personally been researching this phone since the February announcement, i was pretty much fully aware of what i was letting myself in for.
I love it. But, i am a geek.
No-one, who is a regular visitor to this type of forum since February, at least, who has bought this phone, has any real reason to feel dissapointed, or misled, in relation to Windows Mobile.
I certainly realise that if i dont like a feature built into this phone, it will only be a short matter of time, before it is customized to a point that i can accept it.
I have been brought up on windows since windows 3 (PC), and i realise the potential.
bring it on, i say! My X1 stays with me!
