Oh no coola, how could you buy that garbage phone...... If I'm looking for a second phone there's no way it's going to be without BT.

Hehehehe.... the problem is that there are really no exceptional phones outside SE!!!!!!!

But everyone has been saying "Wow!" at the phone and price all day here in mr office. It looks waaaaaaay better that the cheapie Nokias of the price range.

My SE T610 can still be doing modem duty while I answer calls with this new baby. I am happy with it... I think

... if only I can get the gprs to work.... it has something like Primary and Secondary IP... what does that mean????????

@all: I got myself an auxillary phone today as well: a Siemens ME45. Shock and water-proof; GPRS; WAP 1.2.1; infra-red modem; speakerphone and then some more. Fairly-used. Cost N4,000.00

@angelgirl: The only modification to the old Vmobile settings is the APN.

For WAP, change APN to "wap".

For full internet, change APN to "internet".

Everything else stays the same.

@Aya: Good bargain

If anyone is interested in a used auxilliary phone, I have an S55 for sale. Included with the phone is an attachable camera, original siemens charger, serial data cable and communications Cd. The phone looks a bit scratched, but still works well. Only N7000

Even in Abuja... Celtel's gprs coverage is patchy.... I used to get it in my office.. but it ceases about 2 months ago. I can't get it in my home.

An Mtel Engr told me they implement GPRS from the BSC (Base Station Controllers) which should make many Base Stations live... I don't know how Celtel is doing theirs.

I suspect Amby is a share-holder in the company that is why he has been having it this good all this time.

The E61 beats the 9500 in speed, power, display (16 million colours!) and network connectivity (3G alongside GPRS, EDGE and Wi-fi). Browsing, and indeed doing anything on the E61, is MUCH faster than on the 9500.

However, very few keyboards can beat the 9500's, so the E61 loses there. The E61 has 2 browsers, a basic XHTML and an advanced web/javascript/bla-bla web powerhorse that does much faster everything I did on the 9500 browser and more. I do prefer it to Opera, but mini comes in handy for conserving funds.

The browser fails in the areas of text editing and image-copying. There does not seem to be a way to highlight text on a webpage or to save images too. Bad. Very bad. Other than that, the browser takes anything else you can throw at it: online banking; domain management; webhost management; javascript pages, jsp files etc.

The E61 mail client is certainly less versatile than the 9500's, but it has the added advantage of audio and visual alerts when new mails come in, something I missed on the 9500. The E61 also supports a wide variety of PUSH email services like the Blackberry service, Seven Always-on, and MS Exchange Server.

The E61 is much more pocketable. Video playback is heaven! Audio and video podcasting is something else as well.

Office-wise, its got Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Add BT, IrDA, USB and its complete.

Seeing I have not used any WM device, its better I do not make any pronouncements on how they stand beside the E61.

Haba easydee, Mtel ke? Abu has been on this Mtel case for three months and coola just managed to get connected. These are the only two people in Nigeria who I know use Mtel gprs and you are asking for settings? You need "serious connection" to be able to use mtel gprs.
