Just trying to decide between the Sony C550X, C670X and the C680X. Obviously battery life is of great concern/importance to me, but at the same time so is perfomance/nice features. Trying to get the best compromise - unless I don't have to compromise? Anyway, the C680X seems to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon S800 processor, whereas the C550X and the C670X seem to be more or less identical (performance wise) with the Sony Xperia Z. Is the S800 all it's cracked up to be even or is the C550X rubbish?

Hmm I see Samsung and LG produce their own chipset. If Sony still use QUALCOMM I see they can't really stand up among competitors

Really ?! Snapdragon 600 is in bar with Exynos 5 Octa that why Samsung will use it in 70% of Galaxy S 4 units ..

Snapdragon 800 beats the Octa with ease. it scores at least 5000 points more then Octa in Antutu Benchmark !!

At least will be said this But basing on the experiences to date I think it wont be exactly that perfect as they say. We will find the excuses and waiting for the next half years flagship.
At least in terms of prices Sony is competing quite well with Apple's Iphone if they continue this trend, they finally succed to create a phone which is more expensive than the Iphone, and they can say that phone is the number One, or at least the most expensive One.
Why to be popular with good price/value ratio, if being overpriced and expensive is more profitable? And why to make a stable, time proof phone, who would buy so next Half years flagship, expecting that it will be better, or at least better supported?

I think Sony is yet not ready to make its way to US and I think they are following a good strategy; They are selling Xperia ZL in US for $749. Considering Xperia ZL costs less than Z and also the shipping cost from Japan and China to US is less than to EU and also tax rates are lower in US, I think the cost of ZL in US should be like $640 or so. It means that they get a huge profit on every ZL sold so they sell small number of phones (like 100000 ZLs) and still get big profits.
Does any body know how much is the cost of production for Xperia Z, ZL, SP, L and E?

Unlikely. It will be same size as Galaxy Mega 6.3"

I can't believe Samsung will go with that naming scheme. Tossing out the brand recognition of the Note line? Seems unlikely.

Yep. This way I can make up absurd rumours here and then reference them for sensational articles that only exist to generate ad revenue.

But seriously, no - my next phone is going to be ~6inch and that doesn't leave many options. The Note 3 will probably come with exynos (which has terrible support from Samsung for cyanogenmod and other community efforts) and I hate touchwiz so that's out. If the rumours are right, the Sony phablet will be SD800 which has good support, and sony's devs are excellent about releasing source and updates, plus it'll be waterproof and slim. Shame about the lack of wireless charging, but no device is ever perfect.

Wireless charging is no biggie. There will be 3rd party accessories for it like with the Z or you can make one yourself.

Yeah; with any luck someone will make an attractive wireless charging case like the zenus cases for the Note 2. I know muvit make one for the Z, but it's pretty ugly. Honestly, Sony should release one themselves - why let accessory makers take the profit on it.
