Ok, hard drives it is not the...  how about though if the new p-series took MS Pro, not just duos. That way we could have the benifits of bigger memory sticks, and use the adapter for our old duos. I think the highst MS is 4gb which is the size of the HD on that N series nokia.

I am not so sure wheter SE would leave Memory Stick technology for their mobile phones or not. You know... when you deal with SONY devices you will see MemoryStick as the major external storage.
Does any of you know technically how good is MemoryStick technology is, compared to other solid-state storages? Why is MemoryStick cost more expensive than other types (MMC/SD/CF etc.) ?

SE may be planning on also including SD card support...don't know?...That said the price of MS Pro Duo's are rapidly falling and now the PSP is out and Sony are creating more camera's that take Duo's as opposed to normal Memory Sticks it would be unlikely that they would drop the support for the Duo. Even more unlikely would be to drop it in favour of the larger sized normal memory sticks!!! |

Joining SD card association/not for SE is useless. however SE will go down! Why do u ppl wait for hermohoax??? it takes over 2 years to make 1 smartphone ck...ck...ck... how grateful SE is!!!
btw Hermohoax is only bed time story for child. then why waiting 4 it??? Get Nokia N series now!!! its more powerful & many apps u can choose than stupid silly UIQ!

this is a Sony Ericsson site that's why we talk about them.
Why get a Nokia people only buy them because "I've had a Nokia before & I know how to use them because I'm too stupid or lazy to learn how to use a more advanced phone"
take the case off most nokia's & it will look like any other because they use the same guts & just flash the rom to make another phone because they are too lazy to make different phone |

I'm sorry but I fail to see the relevance of your post! Not discussing the merits of SE joining / not joining the SD Card Association, just stating that they have! With regard to N Series?....how can you state it is 'more powerful' than an upcoming phone which may / may not be the one discussed here with an as yet unknown list of specs??...Go figure. That said, some of the N Series do look quite appealing.

it's not that you're banned from any other forum or anything. but posting SE-hateful things is not the best way to make friends.
now back to the topic ... i had a few nokias, never liked them. the only one that ever caught my eye was the communicator series, with the 9300 being the prettiest of them all.
if it weren't for the non-toucheable screen, i probably would have bought it a long time ago. the usability is phenomenal, keyboard, wifi, etc.
we are all waiting for the p1000/hermione/p950 whatever, because we love our p800/p900/p910, and we are eager to see what the next batch will bring. the p series revolutionized the smartphone world for us, so we are willing to trust SE will bring us something equally mind-blowing in the future.
that said, there are a lot of people who are fed up with waiting, and have gone with other phones. yes, even nokia
so ... let the waiters wait, and the impatient play around with other phones. just like we let you enjoy your nokias.

Unfortunately, since Sony and Ericsson merged... the great technology that Ericsson had to offer is now being overshadowed by the crappy stuff Sony couldn't sell.
MemStik sucks... period. No ifs, buts, an whatnots. It sucks. It's expensive (because of licensing rights), slow, and extremely low capacity compared to all other alternatives.
Prior to the merger, Ericsson's hybrid had more features than the P800 (1st gen in their hybrid series). The only reason Ericsson couldn't release it was due to lack of funds.
The original "Quartz" phone (original name of UIQ), the phone already had GPS and provisions for UMTS. And it ran off SD cards.
The ONLY thing that Sony brought to the table for the P-series, in terms of technology, was their LCD technology.
Everything else you have in your P910i, is from Ericsson. And they had it long before the merger.
I am glad, however, that Sony is now starting to graciously provide SE with 20 year old technology... we now have their obsolete 2mp CCD/CMOS sensors, and ancient DSPs. Well... it's a start. I'm just annoyed that instead of providing SE access to their latest cutting edge stuff, they choose to make SE their garbage dump for technology that no one bought... from their Memstick crap, to old digicams, and MD DSPs that were rotting in stockrooms.
Well... for as long as they keep SE alive with cash, I guess Sony is good for something. Otherwise all that great Ericsson technology might go to waste. |

When I need a toy to play, I look at the other pones.
But when I need a phone, I get myself Sony Ericsson.
With SE phones it's always about love for it.
Most people buy phones they can get and afford, regardless of the brand. That is why we have Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, etc. for people who take what is available and they can afford.
Some people buy phones because they love them, need them, whether they can afford it or not, theyve got to have it. They buy SE phones.
