Hi all, this has probably been covered but I can't track it down. I've just got a sparkly new K750i and there's a couple of things that I can't fathom out. First - how do I switch the address book from US format to UK? Is that even possible? T'other is I have these annoying '._' files everywhere on my phone now. I'm told it's from when I tried to use the USB cable to download some mp3's to my phone. I've deleted the mp3's themselves but I can't get shot of the dot underscore files. Any ideas?

Easy. Mac OS creates these little goodies. You need to use something to delete them before you disconnect your phone. Do a search for "FinderCleaner" (sorry, I can not remember the link). Before you dismount the phone, run FinderCleaner and have it delete these ._xxx files and you will not have any problems. Also, there is a problem with the way Mac OS dismounts the k750i and the z800i, and other cable phones. You need to use k750iGrabber (another search - sorry but this will fix your problemos. ) Hope this helps.

You, sapporobaby my friend, are an absolute star! Worked perfectly. Seeing as your such a whizz with SonyEricsson & Macs and a damn good egg to boot you may be able to help me out with another little problem. When I sync to my phone using iSync the dates go all peculiar. Anything that's marked as 'All day' in iCal suddenly starts the day before on my phone. Know of a way around this? I'm just about to upgrade to OS 10.4, will that help? |

That should fix things. I have another goodie for you written by the real star here: JoolsG4. Go to: Jools App. iSync is a bit different in 10.4 so this app will help a million.
Cheerio mate

Did anyone else have the issue of unplugging a K750i/W800i kernal panicking OS X? Here's a fix if you did: http://www-users.kawo2.rwth-aachen.de/~razzfazz/k750igrabber/

Yeah, this was posted back on page 38 by sapporobaby about a month ago. It works well so thanks for the reminder!
There should be a FAQ sticky for Mac/SE issues to save people reading through 40+ pages of posts to find info...

Hi all. Has anyone syncing their k750i with a mac found that tasks created on the phone don't get synced into iCal ? It seems to work from mac to phone, but not phone to mac. Events are OK, just tasks that I have a problem with. I have all the latest software updates.
Thanks, Pete. |

I'm at work at the moment. I'll check that when I get home, however, it's not something I've noticed... I'll post back later...

@se_pete
I just tried putting a Task scheduled for tomorrow into my phone, then did a sync and the Task did appear in the "To Dos" panel in iCal.
I also put a To Do into iCal, did a sync and that got transferred to the phone ok.
So it appears to be working fine for me. I have made a few observations however:
- The date and time of a Tasks reminder doesn't get transferred to the Mac
- In iCal it isn't possible to put a time in a To Do, just a Due Date
- To Dos transferred from the Mac, have no 'note' icon beside them on the phone
Try resetting your device in iSync to see if that helps sort it out.

@JoolsG4
As if by magic it has come to life - I did a reset as you suggested and now it seems to be working. Thanks!
Nice theme by the way - I have it on my k750i.

When i try to use K750i as modem with ibook i get the message 'no phone line dtected, please check connection and try again'. I have all the right settings from o2 and have spent two hours on the phone to their data support line and they are stumped. Anyone got any ideas?

Are you trying to use it as a GPRS modem, or analog dial-up modem?
Have a look at this page - it may help: http://www.taniwha.org.uk/ |

I'm using GPRS but have also tried it as dial up and got the same response.
i downloaded the relevent script from the link you sent but it is still garbage and hasn't changed like the site said it would.

Can you post the settings you are using here, and we'll have a look to see if there's anything obviously amiss...
The 'couldn't detect dialtone' message suggests to me that the Mac still thinks its trying to connect on a regular dial-up connection, rather than GPRS. Have you disabled the "Wait for dialtone before dialing' setting in the Modem Preference Pane?

hello, thanks for this. I managed to download the scripts and did as it said in the 'read me' section.
settings as follows:
Location: bluetooth
Show: bluetooth
PPP settings
service provider: O2 uk
account name web
password: password
telephone number: *99# or *99***1# or mobile.o2.co.uk ( as in script instuctions)
I tried them all!!!
TCP/IP
DNS server: 193.113.200.200
193.113.200.201
proxies
configure proxies: manually
all boxes unticked below 'select proxy server to configure
bluetooth modem
modem : ericcsson infrared
O2 are flumoxed and the only the only thing they can say 'oh yeah, we've been having problems with this'. I tries my ols t630 and it works fine so must be a phone prob not an ibook prob... as usual!!!
Thanks again,
Pippa
