The phone does not support RAW Output, supports JPEG.

Plus it's a big minus to develop each RAW Image manually, difficult for photography on the go.

----

But you can get JPEG's of RAW's quality if we make the images 100 % free of compression, i believe C905 can support that

---

Overall, i think that reducing image compression above a certain limit makes no big deal in the quality, it drains the memory card real fast though.

i have a strange issue when trying this driver. when i take an 8mp shot, and try to send over bluetooth to my computer, it will only transfer an 8kb thumbnail of the image, not the full image.

anyone else have this issue?

Thanks ALOT for your concern. It really means alot thanks to God, i'm perfectly safe and at no harm. I was not in that flight
--------

About RAW and JPEG Compression, as jake reminded above, i've previously told that RAW output is not supported by C905. But JPEG compression can be eliminated to almost 100%. That's the closest we can get, but in all my tests, it was not that useful. Do check the details in McRae's edit, if it's better, i shall lower the compression and increase buffer size.

----

Here's the BETA driver, instructions were posted above.

I plan to add many shooting modes but none of them is finished yet. Currently you can try the VDR and Vivid modes (Still much improvements to go).

http://www.enterupload.com/39bb8izixmcu/camdriver0_Beta.zip.html

If the VDR pics lacks in contrast, Use Photo-fix or Auto-level in PhotoDJ and see whether it's effective.

@ Jake

Did you get the same error with other drivers?

I think it's a problem with bluetooth receiving device. I've seen several devices compelling the sending device to compress/resize the image before sending.

I just checked it, it work fine for me. Full 8 MP pic received at Laptop with integrated Bluetooth device.

I know that witchking said RAW was not an option, as it will only save file in jpg format

I didn't say anything about RAW.

It was mentioned only for explanation how big is original file

Hi witchking,
glad you are ok

its strange, it seems that if my photo is over 3mb, it will get re-sized for some reason when transferring to my pc over bluetooth..

That looks great, especially sky but I think contrast is a bit high though. My screen settings might cause that too I don't know.

isn't the contrast usually higher in HDR shots?
I don't think you are giving witchking enough credit here.. i think to be able to produce a comparable HDR photo with the C905 without the need of any additional software is an amazing feat.. and he is still tweaking it.. its not even done yet.

i think that shot looks amazing

Wow!
About to install, looks great.
Witchking: I tried the edited driver and it seemed to help, but of course takes longer to save. I'll try to get some examples if I can.

Okay, since i'm not getting enough time, and i've to go for a tour for a week, i shall launch the driver in a BETA mode first. The full driver with a bunch of shooting modes will be launched later.
In the BETA mode driver, VDR can be accessed at EV 0.7 in AE Lock/CF function in Manual Settings 2 tab, and a VIVID colour mode at 1.3

There is no reset pattern added yet. After you use any of these features, you need to restart the camera. AEBA values were added at EV - 0.7, - 1.0, - 1.3, but i found that these need improvements. For now, the best way to get REAL HDR is through manual EV selection in auto-mode, not by AEB values, until further fix is made.

---

Do try the VDR, and suggest what can be improved. I know there's a bit more noise in this mode and that'll be fixed soon enough.

Outdoors, use VDR with two colour modes which can be switched through flash option i.e. with (Flash off) for Bright colours and with (flash on) for normal colours.

VDR acts great to expose the image properly and create a HDR type effect, but it may not work with all conditions. When properly used, it can be useful. Play around and try to learn to use it.
