Ronaldo was one of the best players in the game, again. He was touched in the area and made the same thing that henry did, you seem to forget that. Ribery dived has much has any portuguese (and like cole, owen, crouch, van persie, robben, kuyt) his team started waisting time after the goal, much like england against powerfull equador - but WE are the cheaters and divers lol

Henry's leg was clearly hit by a trailing foot. It was a clear-cut bonafide penalty. Ronaldo was already on the way down, when he realised this he threw in some A-grade theatrics. Watch the slow-mo and you'll see him for the cheat he is.

There's no doubt that Ronaldo is one of the best talents around but like many footballers he fails the test when it comes to maturity and sportsmanship.

i think both parties are right yes a lot of players cheat its not just a portuguese thing. but some players are a lot worse than others and unfortunatly ronaldo is one of the worse as is deco. but i d throw into the same pot joe cole as a constant diver and if its wasnt so early i could think of many more.
that said the portuguese team have been invovled in more controversal games than any other team. |

I personally feel that simulation is part of the modern game, the players can use it to their advantage and Ronaldo (in the mid field) is a master at getting free kicks and because he's so fast the refs give it to him!

i think your right thats probably the best part of ronaldos game his lack of games man ship, it certainly isnt his shooting passing or been a team player.
i said it before and i ll say it again, in the long run ronaldo will pay a heavy price. refs are starting to twig onto the fact that he goes to ground easy and will end up assuming everytime he goes down he s looking for a freekick and he ll end up getting kicked off the park as other players will realise the refs not going to give a freekick as they feel he s diving.same thing happened to ginola kilnsman and many others |

@ Arez...
"Time wasting" is not against the rules unless no one from the opposition can get the ball, for example a goal keeper holding the ball for too long. So therefore the people you call "cheats" for time wasting are in fact not. Keeping the ball in your half or beyond, passing it around and not letting the opposition have it is not "cheating" at all nor is it against the rules of football. You want a cheat? Oh yeah you got one...

Yeah righ, if it was Portugal wastying time like that, youŽd call that cheat...
If it was Ronaldo, doing what Henry did against England, youŽd say it was cheat (and i do think it was penalty)
YouŽd demonize Ribery
YouŽd find the refŽs phone and threat his family (like in Euro 2004)
etc
But...PostigaŽs display was discasting, he made stupid dives all the time, and was getting on my nerves - he only exists to score penaltys against england it seems...the best Portuguese forward never lefted the bench, sadly (n. gomes)
Nevertheless Portugal could well tie the game, and even won it
Now i think Italy may won the Cup...France players look has tired has PortugalŽs, and Italy was impressive against Germany |

Would I? Nope, If my team were loosing I would be like "oh c'mon" like any opposition fan would, but I wouldn't call them cheats for it as I know they are not cheating.

You sure? Don't think I would, well since I don't think Henry was "cheating" as you call it and if Ronaldo could possibly climb down from his Grand Master rank at cheating, then yeah I wouldn't think of him as so much of a cheat, shame he can't focus on and make millions of other people focus more on his skills rather than where he's going to dive next and what part of the body will he hold. He could be up there with some of the best players of all time, perhaps.
YouŽd find the refŽs phone and threat his family (like in Euro 2004)
Oh really?! What an ugly comment to make, I don't know about you but I've never threatened anyone in my life and hopefully never will. Don't believe what you read in the press, I don't and neither should you. Threats made on his family my arse, that and the other crap the media come out with nowadays. Besides that decision on Cambells 'perfectly ok goal' was wrong, try watching the replays, and before you say that the decision was right and you did watch the replays, try watching them from an unbiased and non-Portugese view.
One last thing, you seem to suck at this lets go all psychic on everyone and use telequinesis to not only predict my thoughts but my actions as well, stop it before you become another 'failed wannabe psychic cos I'm lonely guy'. Also prop up on your English, I mean great for trying but if it could be that slight bit better, you might be able to actually have a decent conversation with somebody on here.
Well bye bye for now

ribery didnt dive actually he was actually fouled, and yes i would have to agree with fatreg and his questions.
why do they dive in time of need, just lame
why do they hassle the ref.
why did scolari hassle the ref. at the end.
i think the ref. wasnt the best but he let play on alot and he didnt give many cards, its spoilt when cards get shown too much

It is about time the referee's started giving out red cards for diving, even if it is just once or twice that will soon teach them to stop. Before people start whining, i mean all players of all teams that feel it is neccessary to dive in order to get a penalty or a free kick. It is not on the game should be played fairly.

agreed miss C.... i aint got a clue why FIFA or anyone has let this go on as much as it does... i mean come on guys and girlies.. surely with teh aid of TV's now we can have a fair game.. was chatting to my boss about this this morning and he had a brillient idea... in which players would be banned from international football for bringing the game into disrebute (spelling - geeez)... I'd welcome this as then we could all watch a game that is about skill and fitness not about winning oscars...
But i have to also say... ronaldo played amazing last night considering teh sh!t he put up with from teh fans.... typical british attitude aint it.... blame someone else! England were not good enough, like wales, scotland, ireland etc..... nothing was robbed....
in all fairness the foul on ronaldo was certainly rooneys fault lol
hes a great player and i hope he stays at man utd.
Anyway.. jsut my 19 pence worth
