Ok, something else must be trying to load it in.
These two can go:
O4 - HKLM..Run: [rock] rock.exe
O4 - HKLM..Run: [intell321.exe] C:WINDOWSsystem32intell321.exe
and also the CTFMON entry a little further down.
Have you tried running a macafee scan in safe mode?

If your PC has a wifi card installed with the drivers and it's all working ok, there is usually an icon in the system tray (near the time) that notifies you when wireless networks or devices are detected, connected or disconnected.
To transfer files wirelessly, you need to run the wireless network connection wizard on both the PC and the Laptop. The wizard can be found in 'my network places' and the control panel.

****Vista Update****
M$ have finally released the official minimum and recommended specs for running Vista and in true M$ style, they're over optimistic and a little vague to say the least. The latest guess at a release date for Vista is January 2007.
Processor: 800MHz (min), 1GHz 32 or 64 bit (rec)
System Memory: 512MB (min), 1GB (rec)
Graphics card: DirectX 9 capable (min), Runs Windows Aero (rec)
Graphics Memory: no minimum specified, 128MB (rec)
Free space on Hard Drive: 15Gb (min)

yeah? My notebook only has 40 Gig total. Guess I won't be updating in a hurry.
A couple of Qestions for you, o wise one:
- When opening a hyperlink in Internet Explorer, the new page always opens in half-size. Can I set it to open in full-size or am I destined to always click the full-size icon every time I open a link.
- When I highlight a piece of text and click EDIT > COPY and later paste it somewhere, does Windows store every piece of text permanently on my Hard Drive? Can I access these text snippets to archive some and delete others?
Any help much appreciated!

graphics cards are easy to install and do not mess up your pc. just make sure it will work with your mobo. oh and make sure the pc is switched off first

@carkitter
IE is supposed to remember the size of the window that it had when you last closed it, but it doesn't do it very well
New windows opened via hyperlinks can have a size dictated by the site itself, if it doesn't specify a size then the window will open in the standard small size that you're seeing. You can probably change this via the registry, but I don't think there's an easy way to set it to open in full screen, I don't recall seeing a setting anywhere in IE for it anyway although I may have missed it.
As far as I know, the default clipboard doesn't save everything that you've cut or copied. Usually it just uses a set-aside area of physical memory to store the clip data and overwrites whatever was there before. However, I did read somewhere that it does also use a temporary file with the extension '.clp', but I don't think it contains everything you've cut or copied.
Some versions of M$ Office install a more sophisticated clipboard that does remember multiple items, but again it uses memory rather than a file wherever possible and I think it only kicks in when you're using one of the Office apps.
There used to be some freeware apps around that provided a much better clipboard, they probably do offer the functions that you described. Might be worth a quick google?

Help!
On advice from an aquaintance, I downloaded Windows Live Messenger which crashed my computer.
I've only been able to restart it in 'Safe Mode with Networking' whatever that is. The result is that it now is stuck in windows Classic Style (800 x 600 resolution) with none of the XP graphics and doesn't Hibernate or Restart properly.
Any advice much appreciated.

After letting my notebook rest for a couple of days, it has returned to normal. Perhaps the System Restore has finally kicked in. For some reason IE is opening in full screen now, so there's one postive thing from this stressful episode.
@ Cycovision, thanks for the earlier advice.
Edit: Doh! Crashed again! It's back to safe mode.
