it's just great to see how info start to trickle down this thread, after all there are lots and lots of SE users, and other who have links or informations concerning upcoming SE phones.
but no one should expect that any of these (enlightened members) would actually speak their heart out, and unveil the informations.
so dear members, try and read between the lines.
the coolsha, answered the question of Sofia's recording capabilites that the P990 records QVGA 15fps.
a 1 year old phone, which is not a Cybershot branded one, has a QVGA 15 fps.
the phone that many have been waiting, which happen to be the flagship SE of 2007 (and half of 2008 persumably) with 5 mpx, xenon, envolved in a fight against a 5mpx big N competitor, will surely do better than that 15fps QVGA .
(sorry for the long reply) |

Hehe...that's what I think about all the speculations, too. But there's still a slight difference between speculating and knowing the facts.
Just wait and we'll see what se will reveal.
Fact is that se makes decisions up to the last 'seconds' before an announcement.
The facts we're telling you are quite precise. And they've always been.
Especially the facts written down by shaliron and thecoolsha

@QVGA...
so...what's the point of having VGA resolution and 15 FPS?To just see a not smooth video(a CRAP video,to tell the truth)in all its glory??
Come on...We don't speak about pcs or computer games..We are talking for mobile phones with camera. The point is that FPS are most important in this case, not the larger resolution
actually, if you see a VGA res video at 15FPS, its very very watchable, infact, i dont see any problems with it considering i know i am not watching a DVD |

The most inportat thing is bitrate, then resolution and fps,you can have vga@30fps but if you have low bitrate you will have CRAP video!!!

wow has this turned into a fps vs. res thread there's no need for fps's higher than 24/25 - can't remember exactly but something to do with eye is not able to process 'frames' quicker than that.
anyways...
no one in their right mind would use more than qvga in 3gp format
and phew, nice to see some bright heads among us sofia is as - if not more - powerful as t650.

Oh...c'mon guys! That discussion about video recording is getting to be ridiculous. Every part and every member is right! There're several factors that make the recorded movie good.
It's not only fps for a smoother move. There's also the resolution that makes it a lot calmer and sharper to look at on.
@thecoolsha: You're right! There're no more than 25 fps distinguishable for the human eye.
And the bitrate is the result of fps and resolution multiplied

if sofia would have UIQ then why shinobu won't have it? o be more precise i mean the number of softkeys between the two and the screen dimensions and size are similar. it seems like sofia and shinobu will have UIQ 3.1 then. i hope it does

Well, I can't be sure about the video resolution cos I don't try the phones. But all I know is that the minimum is QVGA@15fps, but remember, the T650 can do VGA@30fps and the only reason why SE decided to only let it have QVGA@15fps is because of marketing reasons. So I'm personally expecting minimum QVGA@30fps and possibly even VGA.
And if Sofia is UIQ... I guess so. The signs point to that, but I'm not promising hat at all.
i have a feeling that the final sales version of T650 will only be 176x144 |
