I'll try to help, but a word of caution: in my version of the P990, WPA doesn't work, had to switch my home network to WEP, the fact that it doesn't work has been confirmed by SE in Turkey and they conveniently disappeared after that leading me to conclude that they don't have a fix for it.
Anyway, after you see the name of your network, select it and from the WLAN menu at the top select New Account.
Give it a name, in the SSID field if your network is not displayed hit the search button to its right and select your network.
In turn, select WPA-PSK, infrastructure, then hit next for next screen.
In the next screen select either TKIP or AES, depending on the setup in your modem, in the next field enter your password.
You can move on to the final screen and save your setup. Finally you need to put this account in a group, preferably named wi-fi account following the naming convention.
It should work, but as I said in my version of the P990 WPA does not work so try and let us know.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

@ Makbil
Oh, it was an awesome tip. I just did what you told me and changed my network to WEP, it totally works. PERFECT!
Although the phone restarted after 1 min the first time I got connected, it hasnt been repeated yet, so fingures crossed, it was just that one time.
Thanx again for the wonderful tip. I dont know if it works with WAP at all, but I now know that it does work with WEP. Thats all I care about!

I know tons of posts have been written about the P990 but unfortunately, i get more confused with each one i read. One thing i have not read up yet is an analysis of it's speaker, How powerful is the speaker? Does it handle mp3 ringtones well? How well does it handle music playback? |

Hello Makbil!
I have had the same problem with WPA-PSK on my P990 and Linksys WRT-54GC (router). The solution (in my case) is to use WPA2-PSK on my router and WPA-PSK on P990. Everything is working now. Hope it helps:)

The speaker quality in my opinion is better than any other P series of SE.

Interesting. Thanks, I'll try it and see if it works.
I have a Thompson Speedtouch, unfortunately it doesn't support WPA2-PSK. Tomorrow I'll check to see if there is a fw upgrade for it.

@bytes
There are not many calender alternatives out there, unfortunately. Handy Day 3.0 is nowhere as close in functionality as it was for UIQ2 - still use it occasionally. Aquacalender for UI3.0 is still in early beta, so that will be a while.....

@michi123;
Huh ok thanks for the info. Nearly purchased HandyDay without trial. Guess I am stuck with the SE version of calendar for now |
