Hi m8! When in Contacts clicking the "toolbar" (arrow down) then search, and in this new open window you've got another "toolbar" (arrow down) and there u can change the preference to "all fields"

Are there any tools to help with searching the contacts book? It seems I can only search by surname. I've got 1,700 numbers in here, and I'd like to be able to search on other fields, just as job description and notes. My rubbishy old Blackberry instantly does that for exactly the same number of contacts. For that matter, my old Palm would search across its entire memory. Surely the P990 can do the same?

Or to be more precise 'find' instead of 'search', but that's it. |

Can someone please post a link to a reliable supplier for P990 software. I can't deal with SE, as they won't accept Switch, and I don't intend getting myself a credit card just to deal with them.
Thanks. |

Just got my P990 in Canada, It so happens to be a singapore version somehow.
Anyways, I was so worried about it, cause every one here have been posting horrible reviews about P990 especially the guys who were in singapore. Anyways, I have had it for 5 days, done evertthing with it, but no problems. The best of the best.
Cheers to SE

By the way, does anyone know any program that help me synch my P990 with my MAC. Pc suite doesnt work with mac, and isynch doesnt work with P990. Blutooth doesnt seem to work either, since the devices fail to pair up.
Any Ideas?

How do you tell that it is Singapore version? Also, does anyone know what is different in that version? I'm trying to figure out if my P990 is somehow related to the Singapore version since I seem to have some problems specific to my version of the P990. I remember reading that someone from Russia had similar problems with his P990 and on my box it says Turkey/Russia. What the hell is SE doing?? How come the same model gets shipped to Russia and Turkey, different language, different alphabet...Doesn't make sense to me.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

Well first of all the first time I turned on the phone, I had two options for the language, english and chinese, and I also have the chinese language option on my virtual keyboard as well as chinese dictionary. And more importantly, the time zone, current time and home town were all set to singapore time, initially.

Oh, By the way, I am pretty much sure that if I spend sme time I can find the answer to my question in the past 410 pages, but if someone here is kind enough to walk me through the steps of setting up my WLAN connection, I would really appreciate it. I need to connect to my home wireless connection. I use WPA and I just dont understand what some of these settings are on this phone. For instance, after I pick the name of the network, I dont know which option to choose after I pick WPA from authentication and move forward. what do I pick in data encryption or network authentication in the next screen or in inner authentication in the screen after that, and also I dont have any username setup for my network, so what do i do with that field.
Please please help. or at least if you which page these things are just direct me there.
Lots of thanks and cheers in advance,

On the tools for searching contacts question.
I came across this great contact manager software DreamConnect 3 (by dreamspring.com). It allows you to find contacts very quickly on any field just by typing any set of letters at the main screen. It's instantaneous and means you don't have to launch a search request every time to find a contact. Also, it's entirely customisable - all fields are open.
Like you - I have a lot of contacts and this tool is ridiculously superior to the rigid inbuilt application - I think they're only at beta stage now but it's worth giving it a free trial run (I guarantee you'll never go back to the SE one if contacts are an important tool in your day).
BTW - I have nothing to gain from this recommendation, although I'm always open to a thankyou from a software vendor
