Obviously only Asia gets all colours again.
Many markets are gonna have just black/purple 1iii and black/green 5iii.
Bonus 1: it does not work with ps5
Wasn't it suppose to have ND filter? |

There is now even greater gap in features between 1 and 5
This guy did better features presentation than official launch event

Both of these devices are major/minor facelifts of previous devices which leads me to believe they are on biannual strategy when it comes to real new models. That's not gonna cut it against the competition. This was a perfect opportunity to introduce new sensor, 29fps burst, ND like filter, etc. Oh well! Another year another ultimate hype only to be meh. But that green on 5III makes you get that device over 1III, that's a highlight for me. I have both dark green XZ2 and forest green XZ3, I'm a sucker for those petroleum greens. |

What's up with 5 still not having wireless charging? Now that 1III has reversible charging how hard it could have been to equip 5III with regular wireless charging, there would still be difference between the two. |

Are they changing strategies? I didn't expect 5iii to be unveiled here.
5 ii is barely a year old, anyway it doesn't look like 5iii changed so much.
This is definitely a stop-gap. The variable telephoto is a big upgrade though and that 40% increase in the loudspeaker output. Those minute design changes are also a welcome.
Makes me wonder if they'll have something in Q3.
This is probably part of their cost-cutting strategies .

Oh just screw it, out of all generation III phones the one that's really worth getting is 10III. It has received the greatest upgrade when compared to the last gen and it truly looks like a proper premium midrange option this time around. Flagship music experience and computational photography with some flavor of flagship features such as burst shooting with exposure lock. Video is going to suck major balls but for a less than half a price of 5III who cares really. |

5 is smaller than 1. So they can give you same battery without Qi or give you Qi with smaller battery.
Anyone has a very well calibrated screen? If the 10iii is blue and not light purple (violet) my tablet has serious screen issues.
I think 10iii is still mono. No memtion of stereo, just dsee ultimate.

Of course it's violet baby blue but leave it to Sony to call it just blue of course. The color they call pink is very close Xperia 8 orange but more peachy. Orange on 8 is one hell of a color, probably the best bright in your face color they've done since that crazy gold XA. |

No mention of 3 year updates
Minor changes in hardware imo. Same sensors, same size bodies. Nothing extraordinary about cameras.
10iii is so weak against the competition. 60hz 12,8,8 no ois.
If prices are good then it's an OK iteration, otherwise a big disappointment. |

Important stuff to take note over the 1III :
1. Sunlight legibility. Has it improved vastly? (So can see and shoot real proper under brightest sunlight )
2. Front camera. Enough said.
3. Heating of snapdragon 888. Hope they managed to tame the dragon.
4. Battery life. Hope its good too! |

The Xperia 1iii seems very underwhelming to say the least.

Sony has never promissed 3 years of updated.
Someone just posted on internet and people suddenly start to believe.
I thought 5iii was copper before he said pink.
Seems very different from Z5P, X, XZ or 5ii pink.

This year seems underwhelming because last year seems overwhelming. This year only minor upgrade

It isn't that bad compared to the 2021 flagships.
Just not that outstanding enough to attract/sway customers from choosing Xperia over others.
It's even very competitive against the S21 series, not that those are phenomenal either by any means, right.
I just wished they have changed the ultrawide and instead put a larger sensor. |
