Oh thats sad, rookwise. Actually my good friend, recommanded me to consider it before buying any phone but i am disappointed. The update has made it slower. WTF and you cant use your internet. Then obviously your battery gonna last long.

I've given up for now and gone back to my x10. No point even attempting to sell or trade in my xray as it's worth nothing.
Maximum trade in is £90 @ cpw or grade A unlocked condition at CEX is £159 cash. Not good when you pay £250+ for one of these new.
My next phone will certainly not be another Sony Ericsson/Sony/whatever they're gonna be called next year.
Gonna go HTC or Samsung Galaxy S 3 methinks

Have updated my red Ray to 2.3.4. And the flickering problem is still there. The home and back key is unresponsive as usual, and I don't feel that the standby time is improved.
One thing I have noticed, though, is that while the phone is syncing with my google account, it no longer lags the whole device as much as before.

For me. The flickering happens when using the browser. Mostly when replying to a message (eg on forums when the keypad is displayed)
Every few seconds the screen flickers black to white. It's about a 1cm thick bar across the middle of the screen.
I'm on my 5th Xray as all previous ones were returned for similar problems including the screen flicker but each replacement had the same problems. It is software based so should be easily corrected.
Have even tried different brightness levels to see if it goes away but it's always there.

I haven't encountered the XPERIA Ray (on Gold, White and Black) units |

I had it when I had the Ray too. Maybe it's the UK version that does it?? It happened to me when browsing too and a yellow warning symbol would flash up on screen and internet would briefly disconnect and re connect again with the signal quickly dropping in and out. Drove me nuts.

No flickering here, too. Such things would drive me crazy, as well. I can fully understand everyone going for a different phone then. |
