done, but man, why don't you be a little more polite, and ask instead of demanding things.
have you ever heard of the word please?

So what do you think of your new phone then jake20 ?

Ive spent the last hour on and off the phone to Nokia careline attempting to get my phone replaced or fixed. I wish these companies would use English speaking call centres for customer support.

They said they would email me a returns label i could print off to attach to the package, but didnt email it me !

First of all: congratulations on your new N8, Jake!

Now, I would like to ask both etaab and jake about one thing I´ve read here:

http://conversations.nokia.co[....]-shots-nokia-n8-camera-school/

Do you confirm that it´s possible to choose ISO-100 and 2-second exposure?

If so, that would be quite a good thing for night shots!

I have no idea how they are getting 2 sec exposure. i tried every iso, night mode, ev combination and 1.5 sec is the slowest shutter speed i have gotten.

Now that I go back and read that article again I think they did not mean 2 sec shutter speed.
They were talking about a 2 sec self timer shot.. not 2 sec shutter speed.
I do not think 2 sec shutter speed is possibler with N8.

Thanks for the reply, Jake.

Yep, perhaps they´ve made a confusion.

Anyway, you´ve mentioned 1.5s of shutter speed. Is it possible to get that speed with the ISO-100 setting selected?

Thanks again, pal!

no no no.. not 1.5sec.. i mean 1/5 sec
that is as close to 1sec shutter speed as i could get. I don't think N8 is capable of 1 sec shutter speed.
I hope i am wrong though.

That´s bad news... I was expecting it to have at least 1s of SS, like the Satio in its Twilight Mode.

That´s a big letdown to me.

Don' worry man. My english most poor N8 better than Satio , but on upper sample has amazing terrible blur If you will buy N8 look very careful how shot camera. If you want BEST 12mp cameraphone simply get Pixon12 and noting more.

Vit, does it really matter, take a look at my night time comparions again.

N8 vs Satio

Ive not seen any cameraphone shoot so well in the dark before with little or no knowledge of how to set the phone up. I have the knowledge, but simply used basic settings.

Hi etaab,
I think Vit is talking about taking artistic nighttime photos, or blurring cars, lights, etc.. you cannot do this unless you can slow the shutter down enough, which may be impossible with N8 right now, as I cannot even get a 1/2 sec shutter speed.
I don't think taking a "regular" night time photo is the concern here.

@jake,

congrats on getting the N8

The night time pic you took (of the parking lot), did you use automatic setting and increased the ISO or did you use night landscape and then increased the ISO

Well as you know my Nokia N8 is faulty. Ive been on the phone to Nokia several times in the last 2 days trying to get them to replace it. Today they said they would call me back with details and never did. Useless.

I think if they ignore me again tomorrow, ill take the matter to trading standards !
