I hope you are all not forgetting that Satio is compatible with Symbian^2 which should offer some improved refinements next year.

Is there any kind of official confirmation that this is the case, or that Symbian^2 will actually be released as an update for Satio owners? If not, then this is highly misleading and likely to cause a lot of dissapointment later, when SE just release the Satio^2 instead...

Do you have a link for that? A statement from SE? I'm not saying it isn't so, it's just that this is exactly the kind of "fact" that gets repeated on forums like these without any real verification, and which later turns out to be a misunderstanding when the "promised" updates don't appear. It may well be true that all these phones are technically capable of running Symbian^2, but it's quite another thing for SE to have committed themselves to provide a software update before the phone's even released.

So does anyone know if Satio will realy be running the TI OMAP3430 CPU with 256mb RAM? And is the battery going to remain at 1000mAh?

that TI OMAP3430 is capable of running up to 1Ghz. Also announcing the Hummingbird cpu is not the same as releasing it.

As time passed so that we all reflect on shipped products being used more & more by end users, I'll have to agree with Razec's last post.

S60 5th Edition is a serious resource hog. I still have faith that Symbian^2 when hardened by end of this year will be compatible for OmniaHD, N97, and 5800 to improve performance. That is if the manufacturers support the upgrade on those devices. Also note that Symbian^3 should be functionally complete by that same time that Symbiain^2 gets hardened.

Is'nt the 3440 for HD ? http://focus.ti.com/general/d[....]gationId=12643&templateId=6123

I still don't wanna buy it even with sleeping mode and bookmarks if equalisers presets aren't back in the retail unit

I stand corrected. Great find & thank you.

Nitro Fan ... you and me both ... we're getting older and we want our money well spent, not just the initial honeymoon. After playing with my wife's iPod Touch 16GB ... I'm actually considering the iPhone ... but I won't purchase it; still to many things I'll loose even if jailbreaking it. But its appealing.

One of my Directors turned up in the office with the latest iphone thingy and I have to say its better than the iPhone I rejected some time ago, BUT I would object strongly to find I have to go to iTunes and register my credit card BEFORE Ii was able to use my phone as he was forced to do this week!! I thought he was kidding but NO he was not! unbelievable.

BTW IMHO iTunes is THE worst piece of junkware I have ever seen! why on earth you cant drag and drop onto a folder from the PC is totally beyond me it is just totally backward.

OK interface shame about the hype, and some people say Microsoft are rip off control freaks! Man they have NOTHING on Steve's little followers.
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot.

Seriously, if the only reason you're not using an iPhone is your dislike of a some simple PC software you rarely have to use, you really are cutting off your nose to spite your face...

You need an iTunes account to buy anything from the Appstore (paid or free) and there's no way you'd ever own an iPhone and never download an app, so I can't see the store registration being quite the big deal you're making out. I'm assuming what you say is true - I just logged into my existing account when I bought the phone.

There is a way I use softwares and iPhone's way is not the way I like.

I love the smooth UI of the iPhone. But rest of it is below average.

If a phone is capable of doing something (like shooting video, copy&paste, send file via bluetooth, a2dp) I would like to do it. I would like to know if I can do it when I need it. I don't want to download an app for everything that I do. And iTunes really sucks

I never used Nokia but I'd prefer Nokia over iPhone because of that. But I rather buy a phone. I love

actually, you can get an itunes account without a credit card.
I don't remember exactly how, I helped another member here a while back with that. its not an intuitive process, but its all done within itunes.

you might want to do that if you only want to download free apps or podcasts etc

edit: ah yes, I found this link which describes it nicely... you have to choose to download a free app *before* trying to create an account, and then you get the option of payment method "none"

The iPhone 3GS shoots video, copies and pastes, and does a2dp straight out of the box - without any need for apps or iTunes. The only thing missing is bluetooth file transfer, which I believe jailbreaking can provide.

At last Apple started to make things right but there are more to be done.
Lack of front camera and any kind of flash is ridiculus.

That ridiculousness really makes me angry. Like the strap holder off P1i. Because of that you can't place the phone on a flat surface to take a picture. Small but silly mistakes like that really pisses me off. P1i has only this IMO. iPhone has a lot on the other hand.

Couple of these kind of mistakes would be enough for me not to buy a product.

I'm hopeful for the Satio. SE usually handles these stuff beter.

@OffLineR

That is some nitpicking there!

@ares

Wow, didn't know you are now using an Iphone.

Anyway, we've briefly turned this into an Iphone thread, so can we get back to Satio.

@Dups!

I didn't know what nitpicking was. Now I know thanks to you

We spend quite serious money for these products. We should criticize on every aspect.
