@*, wee bit of a question guys, sorry if this has been answered before. Could Opera be installed in the memory stick instead rather than in the phone? Would it work using globe's free apn or do i have to use their internet apn? Could i also save images via opera or just view them? Thanks in advance :-D

Hi, newbie here. I've been lurking around the forums for the past few weeks and I've learned quite a lot Anyway, I'm posting a question here and hoping a kind soul would help out? I'm getting my P800 in a few days (hopefully) and I was just wondering what things I should look out for? Obviously, the basic features like calling and sending SMS, right? What other things should I check so that I know whether to have the unit replaced? I'm just hoping to get feedback from other P800 users here so I know what's normal and what I should actually freak out over. I'm getting my unit from Globe and Smartnet/Semicon or other authorized shops will fix my unit if ever there's a problem, right? As long as I have warranty from Globe? Please help. Excuse the ignorance ;p
Thanks in advance.

@morbid
-check for dead pixels sa screen.
-check for the latest firmware versions. (open flip > applications list > view > system information > phone: R2F)
-check camera cover if may scratches (unless na lang sealed pa yung unit).
peeps, i just realized something this morning. my 6610's speakerphone is much clearer and louder than my P800's speakerphone at the same volume settings.. |

@ferrarista, ok. Thanks. will keep those in mind.
I can get the p800 Multimedia and PC Suite SW from Semicon or Smartnet, right? Cos I'm getting P800 thru my carriers loyalty program and I just found out the other day that it only includes unit, battery, 1 stylus, the external memory, standard charger and headset. They consider the SW accessories daw kasi that's why they don't include it sa promo. Phoooey. Anyway, better naman to use Bluetooth than the USB adapter, right? Or am I just convincing myself that I wasn't ripped-off? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again

What?!?! That's dumb... unless SE has a special package for Globe... there shouldn't be anything missing in the P800 package.
Better check again... cuz they might be giving you returned/defective units that have been stripped.
Your P800 SHOULD have 2 CDs, sync cradle, 3 EXTRA (total of 4) stylii, charger, manual, quick quide, unit, battery, stereo headset, wrist strap, nylon pouch and 16MB Duo.
It should have the cradle as well, since you cannot back-up your phone via IR or BT. |

@morbid - u should get all the accessories even if it came from globes loyalty program. i did. just make sure you get the delivery receipt so that you can get warrantty services. @ferr- yeah, owned a n6610 beore and find its speakerphone not just louder but the bass is also fuller

@jplacson- exactly, it's dumb. When I told the Globe people that the SW was vital, they said the promo was really like that. They even had the nerve to remind me that I was getting the P800 at the discounted price of 18k. Ya, rub it in. Nice way to treat yer loyal subscribers, eh? I will therefore be on the lookout for any defects since your theory that they might be giving away the returned units isn't so far- fatched. So I need the cradle to back up data? Phooey. I thought I could do that with the Bluetooth USB thing. Speaking of, do you recommend any specific brand that works well with the P800? Thanks again for the info. Really appreciate it.
@rotavap- cool! so you got the complete kit from Globe, eh? That's good news. Did you have them deliver the P800 as well? I hope your phone's not giving you any trouble. Thanks for the info.

@morbid - yup. got my phone since 1st week May I think. By delivery. And its the COMPLETE set. Upgraded na to R2D.
Your issue is strange.
You shouldnt have received the phone in that case. Call them again and tell them you wont pay for the phone you didnt receive completely. Or placed in the delivery receipt the items you only received, have it countersigned by the delivery person and forward your formal complaint to Globe/SE Phils and DTI.

Got my P800 from Wintelecom more than 3 months ago. All the accessories mentioned by jplacson were there with the exception of the WRIST STRAP. I also checked with 3 other guys who got theirs from the same place- same thing, no wrist strap. |

@chris725: are you sure there's no wrist strap? it's a rope-like accessory... was your P800 box sealed when you got it?

Morbid - mentioned your problem to my friend at globe and she recommends that you REFUSE to receive the unit delivered to you if lacking even one stylus. send me your details if they try that with you and we will have it investigated
