Hi people as you can see i am fairly new to the board in fact this is my first post. I have been a SE fan ever since i used k750 and then k800 and then k790 now i want to buy k850 but but it seems it has some serious defects (the impression i got from this board). Suggest me if its worth buying or not....please clarify. I am from Pakistan and wont have branded or firmware installed phone from a service provider its gonna be SE software. i want to know if.
1. Theres any problem with flash (Dark pictures)
2. It crashes.
please elaborate these major problems and also other bugs reported in other thread.
Thank u. |

salamualaikum my pakistani brother
It is worth buying this phone, cause the small bugs will be fixed with a software update.
According to flash pictures: See the new thread plankgatan just opened (its called flash pictures with k850)
Every new phone crashes if you drop it to the ground (i think so) but it will not be a major problem in k850, mine is fine

You could say ive got used to it in comfort..
besides that alot of Wi-Fi hotspots are cropping up now btw it wont be long before GPRS is dead and everyones using that next
Perhaps the next K phone will have Wi-Fi tho who knows be noce if intergrated it into there cheaper phones
I don't think the N80 is big at all it has a decent display looks kewl even my sisters after it, When I first got it the battery was crap but after I replaced it it lasts ages and it doesn't take long to recharge once it's dead neither
Good phone I think wish I got it sooner and I wish it wasn't killed of so quick
You are TOTALLY right about WIFI ... as the ITU recently ratified WiMax (WiFi's bigger brother) as part of 3G standard. (what where they thnking).
However, if SE was smart, they WOULD integrate WiFi into their phones along with UMA support. T-Mobile USA is banking HUGE on WiFi has across the USA they have a HUGE infrastructure in just about EVERY Major and second largest city in every state and major towns for EACH state.
3 phones:
1 is a Samsung
2 are Nokia's with another 6301 includes WiFi.
BIG contracts and TMobile USA is offering UMA (WiFi @ home a seemless handoff from Cellular to WIFi @ Home and when at home UNLIMITED INCOMING/OUTGOING calls WITHOUT the DROP after 2 continuous hours like some providers here in North America are known for).
Hey even RIM got in this game with the Blackberry 8320 exclusive to TMobile USA currently.
I had noticed T-Mob USA had a few Wi-Fi handsets as I had seen the Nokia 6086 I was hoping it may come out here cheap as you can buy the 6085 for $100 but thats missing Wi-Fi..
eventually tho all handsets will or may have this feature,
not everyone wants to be paying for GPRS when they have there own Wi-Fi connection or can use it on the go
Lets hope note this and bring in into there lower end phones not just the P 'Series

Ordered mine from Orange today on upgrade.
It was released on upgrade this morning and will be delivered tomorrow.
They wanted £79.99 to upgrade on a 18month Dolphin 30, £30 per month, 300 mins and 400 texts and unlimited evening & weekend texts. Asked to speak to retentions and said "CAN YOU DO IT FOR FREE?" she replied "YEP".
Well that was hard, why not offer it for free in the first place, there will be some people who are afraid to ask and are having to pay £80 for it.
Can't wait till tomorrow |

Completely agree with you. How long have you had your current contract? I'm in month 16 of my £40 a month 18-month contract and Orange can stick it if they think I'll pay £79 for the upgrade. |

My 12 months contract ended in July.
11:40 and the phone's not here. I've been on nights and got up far to early just incase I missed the delivery. Typical isn't it? I bet they won't turn up till 5:30 on the dot. |

I'm not very bleeping happy, I've waited in allllll day long waiting for parceline to deliver my bleeping phone and still nothing.
I ring Orange and they won't give me a tracking number, I ring parceline and they tell me the phone hasn't been collected yet. Arrgh!
Yesterday after I'd ordered mine I called mine friend and she ordered the same. Hers arrived at 9am this morning and she lives a mile away from me, we have almost the same postcode. Why the hell could Orange / parceline not talk to each other. I've got loads of stuff to do today and it's been lovely outside but I've been afraid to go out of earshot of the door bell just incase the dog didn't hear them turn up.
I'm gonna go and vent my aggression out on one of my wife's cuddly toys. |

When I phoned up Vodafone for an upgrade they said I could have 150 minutes and 100 texts for £25 a month and have to pay £38.99 for the phone- whats that all about? Does not sound like a good deal to me, especially seeing as I haven't upgraded for 2 1/2 years. I wouldn't mind sticking it on one of T-Mobiles Flext tariffs but it seem to be endlessly coming soon.. with T-Mobile |

This phone looks awesome, some photos it takes looks great. Better than I expected after seeing some samples but hard to tell when seeing them resized.
Anyway, I'm really considering getting this phone. I'm not into cell phones all that much. I know this phone is brand new, but when can we expect price cuts? When a competitor releases a new model, like n95 8gb? I have no idea how and when SE usually do their price cuts. Dont need it right away, just trying to figure out if it would actually make any difference if I waited a month or so?
Thanks for any help! |
