hi, i've download supermode 8.53 and mladen750i driver 8.8.
In the daylight the photo is better with 8.8 but in the night (i've selected zoom 1.1 and night function) but photo is better with supermode... why? thanks a lot and sorry for my english

p.s. with 8.8 in the night there is more "noise"... with 8.53 is perfect (night)

I am not a photographer but this is my understanding of it. (please help me out if I get it wrong).

there is 3 things that affects the photo.

1) the F number : this is usually not changed on the camera phone. I think it is at 2.8. I think the lower the number the more light goes into the "film"

2) The ISO value: this is how sensitive the "film" is. in this case how much "amplification" or gain is put on the light that comes into the camera sensor. however, the higher the iso the more noise is generated from the "amplification" process. on the other hand the more higher the iso, the less light is needed to take a photo.

3) The shutter speed: This is how long the shutter is opened during the shot.

As the F number does not change. To take a night shot it is a combination of the iso and the shutter speed.

what the supermode driver does is by using a low iso (to keep noise to a minimum), but keeping the shutter open for a long time. This is why the night pictures are great in 8.53. However, because the shutter is open for a long time. any movements in the subject or the camera is translated as blurry photos.

I think Chengrong did a great job and got the balance right so the night photos have lower noise.

NB: What most other drivers do is by picking an iso somewhere in the middle (eg iso 800) and thereby reducing the amount of time the shutter needs to be left open. This means there is less chance of blury pictures. However because of the high iso there is more noise in the picture.

Mine is CID36 K750i too...IMHO, v8.53 is still the best.

i thing i noticed in the 8.8 is that the linear zoom is faster and smoother and i liked it very much. it's a pity that it doesnt work properly in my k750. although 8.53 is good enough for me. i think i'm not missing too much.
