I upgraded my phone with o2 today

£219 they wanted for it.

Gets delivered tomorrow

Sold my 4gb pro duo memory card for £90 on ebay, sold my w800i for £120 to friend in work

Excellent#

what i most want the k800 i for is the steaming of music via bluetooth. I have a pioneer 9800 head unit in my car which supports bluetooth phones and steaming of music via a2dp profile.

Cant wait to test it out.

So, o2 have them in stock, ready to order. £219 to existing contract holders. Only reason i couldnt upgrade for free was because i upgraded to the w800i a month or so back for free

I have the K800i and it's awesome! I always change my Sony Ericsson when i new one is released. Had this handset for a couple of weeks now. Bought sim free for £399 the picture quality is brilliant.
Only one thing i don't like is the keyboard light colour. Bit dull, not very bright.
I have pretty much 1 of each of the Sony Ericsson range. W810i and W900i are also in use, but the K800i is something else. Looks like the old T series range a bit don't you think???

Having read the posts below stating that you can obtain a K800i sim free for £240-£250 i'll have half a dozen!
Cheapest they are today (4/7/06) is £349. Mine was £50 more due to the fact that it wasn't released yet.
Cpw are full of it. My brother owns a phone shop and can't get them for that price.
I buy/sell alot on EBay (user id 303111) 100% feedback never had a problem. (Only with paypal) There going for £250+ on there but the majority of them are low rated users and phone doesn't exist.
I have seen some actually sell for £330+ though.
A handset is worth what it is worth to you as people say to me why always buy sim free before release dates? I always do though.
Bit of an SE freak! Used to be Nokia many moons ago but sick of freezing handsets/loosing data.
I always buy a 1GB memory card with any new SE handset i buy.

For anyone who followed my story earlier:

Phoned o2 (again) and they have told me that my k800 got delivered to Yorkshire!! I don't even know anyone there! They said DHL should pick it up tomorrow and deliver it back to me. Now, am i right in thinking that if someone gave you a parcel and it was a shiney new phone, you'd open the box and use it?? I don't want no dodgey 2nd hand reject!!

No phone yet! I finally got a call-back. She said that DHL were going to pick the phone up from Yorkshire and then deliver it to me here in Birmingham! What a joke. I bet it'll be used. I'm not having that though, I'll demand they courier me a new one!

@dreamfish, if the security seal if broke just refuse it. They'll have to send you out a replacement then. I can't believe that they didn't do that any way. In my experiance with couriers they have difficalty picking up from a mis-delivery and redelivering it. Could be a couple more days before you see it. Although DHL might be better than the ones I've used.

@ Dreamfish

To protect yourself sign for it as "unchecked" on the DHL manifest. Literally Print next to your name unchecked then as Aldrew says when you get it out of its outer "brown" box, the K800i box should have a semi transparrent security seal. If its broken phone O2 and unleash hell.

I was actual taking about the security seal on the outer box. Mine came with one. So if yours doesn't maybe you should worry.

My outer box was as i said just a plain brown box selotaped up nothing security wise about it, the actual k800 box was sealed up nicely.

Has anyone got a Vodafone K800i??

Can you tell me if the mp3's need to be signed with DRM as with the k750i, plus do you not have the Wap and Shortcut buttons on the front (think these are now call, hangup)

Cheers guys

the most recent question asked in the k800 on vodafone thread seems to suggest that this is no longer an issue

@Smithy2483

The "WAP" button has a green handset symbol and does the same as the LHsoftkey "Calls"

The LHsoftkey "Calls" has been replaced with "Menu" which accesses the Main Menu (I assume its the same as the RHsoftkey on the default SE layout)

The RHsoftkey "Menu" has been replaced by "Toolbar" which gives you access to the Activity Menu. I belive this is the same effect as pressing the "Shortcut" button

The "Shortcut" button now has a red handset symbol and ends the call

I must be one of the few who actually prefers the Voda icons and layout the only thing I'm not keen on is the vodafone "sticker" where the Cybershot Logo should be, but I'll live!

I've just copied a 128bit MP3 over and set it as a ringtone and it works fine.
