hi,
Can anyone post a picture of the m600i's box and accessories please? And are the headphones supplied any good? What media player does it have and how is it?
If these have already been shown and answered, please give me the link. I dont reallywant to read 40 pages
cheers

At work so can't photograph the box right now, but can say the media player is poor. The actual quality is good, but I cannot find a proper full-screen mode - you always have navigation bar in view.

is it like the k750i one, or the w800 one?
cheers

1. headphones seem basic but functional if all you intend to do is to use them while travelling on a train/bus

2. the sound quality of the M600's Media Player using 128 kbps AAC and MP3s is just fantastic. Good balance across the frequency range, solid bass and clear high-end (e.g. cymbals)

I believe you will be able to buy 4GB M2 cards at some point for the M600 could be used as a business device and as a music player

it does annoy me that when entering my sim pin number after turning the phone on, I cannot click the scroll wheel in to confirm it. you have to press "done" on the screen. clicking the scroll wheel just brings up help!

Masseur, you can confirm the pin number by pressing the enter/ok key in the key pad

@ads1107, I don't have them with me but they are probably the HPM-20s. Sorry can't do screen capture yet. Will try to get a screen pic when I am home this evening (0930 in the UK at the moment!).

yeah I found that after posting that comment

I was fairly sure the headset was the same as that supplied with the K750, but I haven't opened it yet so cannot be 100% sure.

yeh no prob mate, maybe a shot of box and accessories if possible to?
And if the headset is hpm-20, how is that possible when the charger port is the same as the k750i etc etc. And the k750 charger will work on these correct?

Is this phone worth it m600i owners? Might go pick one up wendesday if i am convinced...
cheers

if you get the M600i for the kind of money Masseur and I paid then I think its worth it - we paid less then UKP300. If you look at the s/w included with the device I think its good value. But some people have had problems even with the latest firmware, so these problems need to be addressed. I have been very lucky and not suffered any crashes at in three days of intensive use. Remember this is a business phone, which is why it is low on RAM - only seems to have 19MB free on start-up. I don't think its suitable for people who want to load it up with powerful apps. I think the P990 will be aimed at Power Users. Masseur is preparing a review here and Michal J at my-symbian so perhaps you should wait until these reviews are out.

In the UK the consumer laws mean that you can return a purchase to a shop within 7 days if you are not satisfied with the product - if you can do this then there is no reason for not trying to get a M600i. Just remember to flash it with the latest firmware and don't load any non-UIQ3 apps!

This is honestly the worst I have had and should be ashamed of releasing a product like this.

Ok, so I put up with the T610 hiss (until I could get it fixed), the 2 key getting stuck under the housing on the K700, the odd creaky housing on various models etc etc but from power on to actually being usable it takes even longer than windows smart phones (like SP3) that I have had and that soon lost my patience. Even when the desktop has been displayed if I click anything its a good 30-40 seconds before it actually responds.

I've had the low battery warning twice already this morning just coming into work on the train

I am impressed with the HTML email rendering which still isn't available in windows mobile, but generally speaking I feel I overpaid for this and probably the only reason I am keeping it longer is morbid curiosity to see how well and quickly improve on the firmware.

@masseur, looks like we have "yin and yan" devices. This is so crazy, my device has been so stable and no problems with crashing or low bttery etc. As I don't need to re-start very often the longish start-up is not that bad (e.g. compared to the Nokia 9500/7710). Well at least ads1107 is getting all the different views!

Edit: the only third party app I have installed is Handy Safe. For those that have problems, what third-party apps are you using?

I think the M600i is brilliant and well worth the £400 I paid. Even more so after coming from slow, buggy and functionally lacking WM05 devices (Jam, O2Exec).

Yes, there are some problems - some more critical than others, and there are also some features that need refining and/or adding. I'm satisfied that SE seem to do regular firmware updates and fixes should come along fairly quickly - unlike WM05 where a SMS can still crash the phone - and that's after 6 month on the market and three firmware updates.

Generally I'm extremely happy with the M600.

I agree with masseur on the poor implementation of the m600i. I LOVE the size of the phone, and i think the new OS will be good. But to release a phone with an OS that is without a shadow of a doubt still in beta stages is terrible. The battery warning bug is inexcusable! As is the constants slow down. SE really should not have released this phone so early on when its clearly not ready for consumers. Ii would like to think that we are fairly forgiving when it comes to technology and SE, always wanting to be the first to try out new gadgets, and (most of the time) be patient for new firmware to be released to fix that 'annoying' issue. Its part of the short comings of getting a device early...however this phone is now starting to be officially released, the firmware is not nearly ready...this is not a good thing for SE's name, business people who would be very tempted to get the phone on the back of the size of it and the push email functionalities, would be put of it after a days use of it and thus resort back to their trusted blackberry. Its very hard to convince someone who had a bad experience with something to go back to it, even if all its faults have been sorted out. Don’t get be wrong, I am CONVINCED that the M600i (and future models) will be very successful and will sort out all of its faults, I really do hope it does, cause it’s has the potential of being a class phone, its just a shame that it’s such a rushed job from SE to get a phone released when its clearly obvious that the OS is not ready yet. Would hate to see how bad the P990i version is, considering that they are having problems with that one!
