Clock frequencies have shit-all to do with performance in this case. Otherwise Apple's Cyclone cores clocked at like...1.5GHz wouldn't be leading the CPU benchmarks. If the cores are physically larger, then a lower clock speed shouldn't matter for performance, and should be better for heat management.
It's these tech sites sometimes, some of the guys have not a clue what they are talking about, when I hear that the clocks are lower I immedietly feel happier as it means they have managed to get more power out of lower clocks, it can only be a good thing in terms of efficiency, and if I am not mistaken, with big.LITTLE the low power cores can now can work with the high power cores depending on the power needed, they configure themselves to match the power requirement, meaning they will manage tasks far more efficiently than previous SoCs, someone please correct me if I am wrong, but that is what I understand of this.
It will be sad if the Snapdragon 810 does not make it to early 2015 phones, it will make early 2015 boring for most, for me personally I will be fine as I already have a Snapdragon 805 phone, I plan on getting the Note 5 which should definitely have the 810 OR it will have the successor of the Exynos 7.
The Qualcomm problems for me are an explanation of why Samsung continue to develop Exynos and why LG are also developing their own chip, they do not want to fall behind due to a supplier who is having issues.

Read again, at first they say it might get delayed duo to SD810 problems... But at the end they listed the spec. according to PA craps.

That SoC is nice, but it's not high-end.. the cores are not A57...
The only thing that is very good with it is the ( 480fps 1080p Full HD Super-Slow Motion video recording and playback ), I hope Qualcomm will add such ability to their S810...

#SONY #XPERIA E2303 (e4)
126.9 x 64.9 x 9.7
4.3" DISPLAY
#CES2015
2350 MAH BATTERY"
could be a good low end device IF priced super cheap. similar to z1 compact in dimensions, much better then the e3 brick design...
in other words, a nice phone for my mother.

Check out @Xperia_Insider's Tweet: He/She has just posted a photo of the Xperia E2303 very low quality image but you can make out the Walkman logo and the very bottom of the screen https://twitter.com/Xperia_Insider/status/541684339344670720?s=09

Assuming that picture of the walkman xperia is real then I'm bit confused about the design of the navigation buttons. Rumor has it that future devices running Android 5.0 would get a overall different UI which would include different designed navigation buttons.

@nodarsixar
+1 good find. so it's indeed fake.
@XperiaJunkie For god's sake other OEMs have started to roll out Lollipop for existing/older models and Sony is about to release a new device in Q12015 with Kitkat?! I hope not. |
