If U use a task killer put the clock on ignore list. That is often the solution to alot of problems.

I don't use Task killers after reading that Android OS doesn't need one and judging by my battery performance it's true at Ieast for me. The issue with the time loss, I'm more inclined to think it's a network error & not a phone error. As I mentioned in my post, I've de activated the Auto Time Update, but I'll need a few days to a week to see if it does it again and if it does it again then it will be a phone problem. Although, if it turns out to be a phone error maybe a FW update will correct it because I'm no expert but I don't think it's a hardware issue. Tomorrow I'm getting the R2BA020 at my local SE service and it just might fix it because I prefer to have Auto Time set to ON as I travel out of the country often and for daylight savings time changes, all time corrections are done automatically. |

If you put your message tones on the SD card in a folder named notifications, you can browse for tones thru the message app settings and sound & display settings. I set up a media folder, in it a folder called audio and within this folder, 3 other folders named alarms, notifications and ringtones. From mediascape you can only set a ringtone, not a msg or alarm tone. This way also your msg, alarm and ringtones won't show up under your Tracks in Mediascape, they only show under recently added. If you wan't using for example, Astro File Mngr, you can place the above media folder with all it's sub folders on the phone memory in the System folder where all the system sounds are and this way they won't show in Mediascape at all.
I managed to make it work, thanks, stupid that you can't browse any folder per default. i have only used handcent and its great but the things you will do for your female friends..

in other words you mean if i add my sms mp3s to the audio>subfolders they will show up in system sounds when i try to set a notification signal?

That's correct. It works for me. Give it a try SKIBBE altough after I get the R2BA020 update tomorrow I wan't to try Handcent for the benefits you mentioned in being able to browse all ringtone file folders and other pluses over the stock MSG APP mentioned by other users.
Good Luck,
Peter.
Ya, I know what you mean about doing almost anything for a Foxy Lady! But sometimes they do return the favour.
Cheers!

I am trying to get my Rogers X10a unlocked for the last few days and tried 2 sellers on ebay and another website that has a youtube video advertising. All refunded my payment saying they don't have unlock code for my phone. What does this mean? It's a brand new Rogers X10a I got from ebay. Do some phones take longer to get unlock code released? What are my options?
Thanks. |

@kits
there's plenty of unlock codes out there. do a search on here, there were posts earlier in this thread about sites to get unlock codes for fairly cheap.
I have a rogers x10a. i got it unlocked immediately after getting it from ebay. the seller provided it.

I don't see option to unlock Rogers branded SE phones on Davinci . I just got reply from the 4th site I tried and they replied that the unlock code it not there on their servers for my Rogers branded X10a.

My phone keeps asking for PIN after a few minutes in sleep. Bug or new setting?

As some of you said. No more asking for PIN.
Another thing. Do you have a new "app" visible on your app screen that is called "com.sonyerics..." and has Android's icon? I don't know what it is, but it crashes everytime I try to start it. I can't see the full name of it. When I look under the settings for programs there are 9 different programs with the same name in the beginning.

Hello
I've rooted X10i with 023 firmaware & very happy. Have 2 issues though
1- Whenever someone call me, phone rings & vibrates & screen lights, but it doesn't appear who is calling. Instead i've to swype screen lock, then monster lock & then i can see who is calling, but then i've to swype screen lock again to answer a call. I've to unlock 3 times to listen a call, it's weired I can remove monster lock, but i need it coz i don't want someone to check my mobile.
Before rooting, i had to just swype one time to answer a call. How can i fix this problem?
2- Battery life is not as great as it should. Andy stated that rooted firmaware & UK Generic 023 don't have good battery life. Nordic Generic 023 has great battery life. Reason is that in rooted 023 & UK Generic 023 phone doesn't sleep properly. What's you opinion about that? My battery life has not improved after getting rooted 023. |

I have that too and just like you said, it tries to force close everytime you run. I don't recall it was there before the latest 020 update. What is it for?? Does anyone know? |

Guys, please help.
I am still unable to get back my Playnow after the 020 update. I did try to follow the instructions Winnerzero provided in earlier threads but it keeps giving me two options everytime I try to install the Playnow apk files. It keeps telling me to either "Uninstall" or "Launch" but neither options would work. Uninstalling gets the message of "Uninstall not successful" and "Launch" doesn't seem to do anything. What approach do I need to get the Playnow working again? Would factory reset do the trick? Thanks in advance.

@ Mano82 If you update a UK Generic Handset via SEUS its battery life seems much better then that of ones done OTA. Also if you plug a Generic UK handset that's been updated OTA into SEUS, it says there is a update and after that that the battery life seems much better odd eh? |
