Well, my C905 broke last night - no sound from earpiece - so looks like I've joined the club!
My phone was built in week 38, 2008 so it's a VERY early model by the looks of it. I'll have to send it off to a repair centre next week, but I hope that they've fixed the problem and once done it WON'T happen again.
Damn annoying, especially after getting the new firmware update I've been waiting for since the announcement at the CES.
I'd still happily recommend the phone though, although possibly a little less right now!

C905 is totally a failure by Sony Ericsson. A flagship with a total crap. Every handset is prone to dead earpiece. |

Reword that, a lot of people don't have problems with their earpiece

I was going to buy the C905 this week but after reading this and the C905 issues thread I'm now worried. I even inquired from various shops about the date of import sticker on the C905 boxes and it seems no one in my city has a phone that was imported in 2009 (newest is December 2008).
OffTopic: My old K790 is just about dying out after over 2 years, can anyone suggest a recent high end SE phone with good build quality and a good camera.

The C902, perhaps?
C905's better though, despite the problems some are having with it.

^ Well I would definitely buy the C905 if there was any possibility of exchanging over here but if I get a defective unit it will just mean endless trips to the SE service center and I don't want to risk it.
So we have to go as far back as a C902 to get a decent phone I'll try it out.
I'm even surprised at the W995 specs - http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone2=2427&idPhone1=2682 |
