Some swedish website is stating that SE will release new phones on the 14th of June, with a focus on music and photography technology.
And they mention a 5 Mpz phone.

Now we need to figure out if the source is this very forum in which case, the article wouldn't be much of a confirmation but a rehash of all the posts flying in this thread (not impossible). Or do they have another source, the article being published by a Swedish website, they might very well know things we don't.
Let's hope it's the latter.

btw,if MOOI(or Maria,if it is the same) is engineered on the P1i's basis, is it possible that it will have DSP?In other words,isn't DSP something more complicated,which can't be just thrown in and needs a totally new internal design?

Yeah,thats what I mean.But my question was more theoretically-aimed.I'm in electronics for a long time,but don't know if what they call a "DSP" in a mobile phone, is a real DSP(which is very complicated in most cases) or just a marketing thing,based only on better DAC and opamp.

Yeah...something like a Yamaha DSP-Z9 based processor with 9.1 channel sound for a mobilephone*outch*
What a pity that something like this will never come out. |

hmm not that type of DSP.I'm talking about DSP CHIP or in particular - DAP(Digital Audio Processor),in which more than 2 channels are not necessarily implemented,but it has hardware effects,in some cases internal DAC/opamp and etc.For example,Texas Instruments' TAS/TLV series(although the TLVs are not exactly DAPs) or even TMS320C/OMAP series/Analog's Blackfin/SHARC processors.The latter give the best audio performance and I was talking about that kind of solutions.

well, i might as well just spoil it all now. this announcement will be of great importance and will show innovation from  which some have been complaining about. regarding the 'unique apps' i'm not quite sure which they are talking about. they've been testing many apps - pdf-viewer, karaoke-app, tv-app, maps etc.
new and improved "version", if i can call it that, of cybershot with more and advanced features. better video.
walkman will also be enhanced.
feel free to ask any questions, but don't expect aanswer.
oh, and the date changes regarding to the country, i think. |

the one i have seen is much like the spypics yes. and it's really optimized for imaging imo.
i don't know about you, but i'm expecting quite a few
